## REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2022

1 The Charity was constituted on 2 October 2007 by trust deed with the purpose to<br>advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by devloping effective<br>relationships betwn thestaff, parents and others associated with the school.<br>2 Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and<br>advance the education of pupils.<br>3 The Charity made payments to the school of £12,727 in 2023 (2022: £13,692).<br>4 The Trustees have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission's guidance on<br>public benefit. The Trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty in Section 17<br>of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to public benefit guidance published by the<br>Charity Commission for England and Wales.<br>5 There is no reserves policy on the Charity's accounts.<br>6 The trustees are fully aware of their individual responsiobility and accountability to ensure<br>that the charity fundraises legally, responsibiliy and effectively. Fundraising is done<br>through events for the parents, staff and pupils of the school. | report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Friends of Penwortham School Parent Teacher Association ("the Charity") for the year ended 31 August 2023. 

# Responsibilities and basis of report 

As the charity trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). 

| report in respect of my examination of the Charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination | have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## Independent examiner’s statement 

| have completed my examination. | confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe: 

1) accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or 2) the accounts do not accord with those records; or 3) the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. 

! have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
