Achievements and Performance
The St Endelllon Easter Festlval took
place between 12 and 20 April 2025 at St
Endellion in Cornwall. During th•
Festival a "Come and Sing" event was
held (enabllng members of the publlc to
rehearse and perforni Mendelssohn's
Elijah). Festlval partlclpants perlonn
10 concerts, including chamber
concerts, choral and orchestral
cOn￿rtS, $u¢h as ￿r10mlanceS of
Dvoiak's Stabat Alatsrand JS Bach's
Easter Oratorio, and other works by
Bach. Bairstow, Beethoven. Borg,
Brahms, Bridgo, Bru¢kner. Clarko.
Dohnanyl, Elgar, Gesualdo. Gibbons,
Harwood, Martlnu, Mozart, Poulenc.
Rooney, Schumann, Shostakovlch,
Stravlnsky. Warlock. Wi118 and Z•l•nka.
In addition, the first perforniance of
pieee commissioned by tho Eastor
Festival from Anita Mawhinney

on Good Friday. Choral Evonsong on

Throughout the Festlval. a free art
oxhlbition was held al St Endellion Hall
f•aturlng tho works of David Smart and
Jom Southam.
The St Endellion Summer F•stlval was
held between 29 July and 8 August
202S. It featured 12 porformancos by
Festfval particlpants includlng charn￿r
concerts, choral and orchestral
concerts, thr•0 porfom)ance8 of Vordi's
opera Falstaff (including Truro
Cathedral chortsters as part of the
children's chorus), Purcoll'8 opera Dldo
& Aeneas, Vaughan Williams, A Sea
Symphony, a family.friendly informal
concert, and works composod by
Brahms, Carwlthen, Chaminade, Elgar.
Howells, Kennedy, Purcell, Ravel, Holl
Mccarthy, Slbellus and Wagner. In
addition, a free "Moet the Composer"
ovent was hold In St Endelllon Hall with
Zoo Martlow ahead of the world
pramlere perforn)ance of her worK
Ondlno. Throughoul the Festival, a free
art exhibilion was hold at St Endellion
Hall featuring artwork Croatod
excluslvely for tho Summer Fesllval by
BA Illustrallon students at Falmouth
Universlty. In addltion the Festival
chorus Sang at two Sorvicos (Choral
Evon50ng and Sung Eucharlst) In St
Endellion Church.
All of theso well-supported events were
open to tho public. This year saw th?
continuatlon ot a schéma whereby
tlckgts to certaln concorts In each
Fostlval are provlded at no Cost to
selected young people in Cornwall. Our
outreach actlvltlos Included Invltations
to young local Instrumentalists to take
part In a communlty engagement day
foll¢wed by a performance at an
Informal event for the Frlend8 of the
Festivals. In putting on these conc•rt8,
talks, free workshops, "Come & Sing"
events and so on. thg Trustees
endeavour to further thg Charlty's
objects, In particular tho advancement
of public education In tho art of musl¢.
