Medina Marching Band IW – Annual Trustee Report Summary Year End 31[st] January 2025 2024 was a successful year for Medina Marching Band IW, marked by key performances and continued growth. We were pleased to return to London’s Hampton Court for London Band Week, where the Corps of Drums performed strongly. The band also revisited Swanage Carnival and took part for the first time in Bridgwater Carnival, which was a valuable and memorable experience. We have been invited to attend the workshops and Tattoo at London Band Week in 2025, and we will return to perform in the Tattoo and Parade of Bands in 2026 as part of our 50th Anniversary celebrations. The band has also been confirmed for the London New Year’s Day Parade. This year, for the 80th Anniversary of VE Day, we will take part in the Newport parade and Yarmouth Beacon Lighting. Recruitment and musical development continued to strengthen through our Sunday morning sessions, which now provide structured tuition for learners and sectional rehearsals for established players. We welcomed several new members, including experienced musicians, supported by a revised approach that promotes music lessons as a pathway into the band. We also benefited from the guidance of our Musical Director, Bandmasters, and external supporters, including serving military musicians. The band continues to attract positive attention locally, nationally, and internationally through social media and event engagement. Attendance and commitment from members have remained strong throughout the year. We thank all players, volunteers, supporters, and contributors for their ongoing dedication.
