## **About the charity’s work** 

We are a small charity that has the following aims and carries out the following activities: 

- The prime function of the charity is to advance Sunni Islam, in accordance with Maslak-e-Aala Hazrat, by such exclusively charitable means as the executive committee shall from time to time determine. 

- To promote racial and religious harmony by engaging with the local indigenous community as well as with organisations with the same objects locally and abroad. 

- To help alleviate suffering by helping those in need especially in remote areas where facilities are scarce. 

- Also to establish a community centre and a centre for prayers for Muslims, and provide for its upkeep, including payment of the Imams fees and relevant persons that may be involved in the upkeep of the premises. 



- The promotion of good health, by making local Muslims in deprived areas aware of the high prevalence of certain diseases that can be decreased by improved awareness and lifestyle modification. 

- To provide or assist in the provision of facilities for the local Muslim community in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life. 

## **Structure and recruitment** 

The membership is open to any Muslim above the age of 18 years who supports the objects listed in clause 3 of the constitution shall be entitled to be a member of this organisation providing he/she agrees to the subscribed aims and objectives of the IMRA and abides by its rules and regulations, 

At the annual general meeting of the Charity the members shall elect from amongst themselves the personnel comprising the Executive Committee/ Trustees who shall hold office from the conclusion of that meeting., as per the constitution. 

## **Activities and objectives this year** 

- a. Our community centre has become more popular as the local community gets to know about the facilities and activities we provide for the benefit of the local people - men and women, young and elderly. These facilities include free meals on a regular basis, daily in the month of Ramadan and 2 weekly the rest of the year. 

- b. The prayer /mosque facility provides a secluded area for prayer and contemplation for Muslims. Prayers are led 5 times daily at different times 

- c. We provide for its upkeep, including payment of the Imams fees, cleaners etc. This year we have purchased a washing machine (330£), a storage facility (160£) a lawnmower (82£) and a shower facility (56£) 

- d. Short informative lectures on the promotion of good health, current issues and religious obligations. 

- e. We continue to provide financial assistance to a girls’ orphanage in remote Zimbabwe (Melfort and Chinhoyi), food assistance in Somalia (a  remote desert areas); Rohingya refugees the  borders of Myanmar and Bangladesh ( Cox Bazaar). Further details are set below 

- f. We have this year made a contribution to a charity SLIC  charity number 1201353 to help them establish a centre that provides similar facilities as we do with similar objectives as we do. 



- g. The  community  centre  we  have  established  provides  regular  qualified personnel  to  lecture  and  to  teach  the  principles  of  the  Islamic  Faith  in accordance with the Sunni Path. 

- h. To  promote  racial  and  religious  harmony  by  engaging  with  the  local indigenous community as well as with organisations with the same objects locally and abroad. 

- i. Our objectives are to continue to provide assistance to others according to our financial status. 

## **Where does the money come from ?** 

## Fundraising: 

This charity raises funds from the public only at prayer meetings once weekly . 

It does not work with professional fundraisers or commercial participators. 

A small office is sublet, and a small monthly income is received from there shown in the accounts. 

## Trading 

This charity does not have any trading subsidiaries.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/03/2023. 

- **Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
