The families might be struggling to cope with illness, incapacity. povety or other domestic Ctises. The charity is named after Melissa Nathan. an author. who in her lifetime embodied the ideals of the charity. Melissa sadly died from cancer aged 37. but through the work of the Melissa Nathan Foundation her name is perpetuated and her ideals are maintained. The objective5 are achieved in the follovrfing ways: The relief of financial hardship among people living or working in the United Kingdom by providing such persons with goods/services which they could not otherwise afford through lack of means. The relief of financial hardship. either generally or individually. of people living in the United Kingdom by making grants of money for providing or paying for items. services or facilities. The relief of the sick-poor living in the United Kingdom either generally or individually through the provision of grants. goods or services. Flnanclal Revlew The results for the year show that there were net incoming resources of £32,591 .1612023 £5.295.CL)) Plans for Future Years The charity will continue to accept unsolicited donations. however following the unexpected sudden death of Brian Nathan, one of the founding trustees, it is the intention of the remaining trustee to distribute all funds and close the Foundation. after a final legacy gift from the late Brian Nathan, is received. Reserves Pollcy The charity has no on-going financial commitments and will ensure that sufficient reserves exist before making any future funding decisions. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in. any materiol respect: - the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2(X)8 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair, view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. I have no concems and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be made. The Financial Statements for the year from I sl March 202310 29th February 2024 were presented to and approved by the Trustee. It was formally noted that founding tnjstee Brian Nathan died on 3rd September 2023 and that following his death there was restricted access to the Foundation bank account which is ongoing. When a final legacy donation from Brian Nathan is received by the Foundation. it IS the intention of the remaining trustee Jeremy Nathan, to make a final distribution and close the Foundation.
