Treasurers report 2020/2021

The COVID situation has, again, had an effect on the attendance figures, however, we are hoping that next year will bring new families and a more positive year for the children, parents, and the staff team.

You will be pleased to know that the preschools income exceeded the outgoings by £5370.19 at the end of the financial year, current assets outweighed current liabilities by a considerable amount meaning that on paper the preschool is in a healthy financial position.

It should be noted, however, that the unprecedented events of this year might change that situation in the next financial year. Our figures include £13934.00 that was accessed through Government grants that were available to help businesses through the COVID situation.

We as trustees and the management team will be proactively seeking funding and advice to support the preschool through what may be a difficult financial period. We do, however, remain positive and with the increase in the birth rate figures and with planned advertising schemes we will look forward to a busy year ahead.

Independent examiner's report to the trustees of St Pauls Pre-school

I report on the accounts of St Pauls Pre-school for the year ended 31[st] March 2021, which are attached.

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to:

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act, and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act, have not been met.
