REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES For The Year Ended 31st May 2025

The trustees present their report with the independently examined financial statements of the trust for the year ended 31st May 2025

The Trust

The charity was established on 12th June 2008 with a constitution adopted on 11th May 2008.

The objectives of the club are:

To promote community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for playing football (facilities meaning land, buildings, equipment and organising football activities) for the boys and girls of Shefford and the surrounding local towns and villages.

To advance the education of children, young people and people with disabilities, whether or not undergoing formal education.

Management & Structure

The overall management and governance of the Club is carried out by a committee of volunteer trustees which delegates the day-to-day running of the charity to an committee comprising trustees and other volunteers.

The trustees have responsibility for ensuring the Club is properly funded through subscriptions and other means, including grants and fundraising activities.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Members of the Club

We report on the accounts of the Club for the period ended 31st May 2025, which are set out on pages 1 to 8.

Respective responsibilities of club officers and the examiner

The officers of the Club are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. They consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act)) and that an independent examination is required.

As such, it is our responsibility to:

Basis of independent examiner's report

Our examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. The examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Club and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the officers concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be in an audit and consequently we do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Members of the Club continued...

In connection with our examination, no matter has come to our attention:

(1) which gives us reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the officers have not met the requirements to ensure that :

proper accounting records are kept in accordance with section 130 of the

Charities Act;

and

accounts are prepared which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act;

OR

(2) to which, in our opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
