## **REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES**

**For The Year Ended 31st May 2024**

## **STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES' RESPONSIBLITIES**

Law applicable to charities in England and Wales require the trustees to prepare financial statement for each financial year which give true and fair view of the charity's financial activities during the year and of its financial position at the end of the year. In preparing the financial statements giving true and fair, the trustees should follow best practice and:

- (a) select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;

- (b) make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;

- (c) state whether applicable Accounting Standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements;

- (d) state whether applicable Accounting Standards and Statements of Recommended Practice have been followed, subject to any departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements;

- (e) prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to assume that the charity will continue in business.

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonalbe accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and which enable them to both ascertain the financial position of the charity and ensure that the financial statements comply with applicable law. They are also responsible for safegurading the assets of the charity and hence for taking responsible steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

## **Independent Examiner's Report to the Members of the Club**

We report on the accounts of the Club for the period ended 31st May 2024, which are set out on pages 1 to 8.

## **Respective responsibilities of club officers and the examiner**

The officers of the Club are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. They consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act)) and that an independent examination is required.

As such, it is our responsibility to:

- examine the accounts under secton 145 of the Charities Act;

- to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act); and

- to state whether particular matters have come to our attention.

## **Basis of independent examiner's report**

Our examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. The examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Club and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the officers concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be in an audit and consequently we do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

## **Independent Examiner's Report to the Members of the Club continued…**

In connection with our examination, no matter has come to our attention:

(1) which gives us reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the officers have not met the requirements to ensure that :

proper accounting records are kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act;

and

accounts are prepared which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act;

## OR

(2) to which, in our opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
