Both the manager and deputy manager hold BA Hons in Early Integrated Childhood Studies, the manager also holds EYP status. All staff continue to update their training. We currently have one supervisor who has achieved her BA Hons degree in Integrated working with children and families, all other staff in supevisor/key person positions have a level 2/3 qualification. All staff continue to access training provided by the local authority to update their knowledge and feed this back to other staff at staff meetings to continue to improve practice. We also carry out in house training which is compulsory for all staff and on a needs basis. Staff have also completed online training. The nursery was busy and operating at almost full capacity however was closed for approximately 8 weeks from the end of March to the beginning of June due to Covid/Lockdown. All staff except the Manager, who continued her Safeguarding role, were placed on Furlough. From 8[th] June the nursery opened for vulnerable and keyworker children only and gradually the numbers increased until we fully opened in September 2020. During this time staff were placed on flexible furlough for some of their hours. Unfortunately, Kids Club has not reopened as yet, due to the demand for this being very low, and it not being financially sustainable. Financially we made a loss this year of £5184. The setting continues to work in partnership with local schools and this is constantly improving. The staff continue to work together to ensure a high level of care and education for all the children accessing this service.
