The trustees present their annual report and financial statements for the year ended 5 November 2023.
structure Governance and Management
The Charity was created by a Trust Deed dated 30 October 2007 which directs that the trust funds should be used for
such charitable purposes as the trustees, in their absolute discretion, consider fit.
The Trustees shall hold the capital and income of the Trust Fund upon trust lo apply the income, and all or such part or
parts of the capitsl, at such time or times and in such manner to, or for the benefit of such exclusively charitable objects
and purposes in any part of the world as the Trustees may in their discretion think fil.
New trustees are appointed by a resolution of a meeting of the Trustees bul only with the consent of the Board of
Directors of the Settlor Company whilst the Settior remains in existence.
Objectives and Activities
The sole objective and activity is the giving of grants. The trustees are aware that they must carry on the charity's
activities for the public benefit and that they musl pay due regard lo the guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity
Commission. They consider that the charity's aims and activities are for the public benefit since it is a grant making trust
which gives only to either registered charities or needy individuals.
Achievements and Perfomiance
The income of the trust during the year was £32,02212022 - £32,228).
During the year, grants of £28,391 12022 - £34,050) were made lo institutions and grants of £200 12022 £501 were
made lo individuals. We list below the grants made of £1,000 and above. The remaining grants of £26,591 were made
lo a further 201 institutions and 3 individuals.

Financial Review
The trust deed gives the trustees the power lo make investments as they Consider fil and al their absolute discretion.
Reserves
The Trustees reserves policy is to allow all reserves to be available for distribution as grants to worthwhile causes at
any time. As at 5 November 2023, unrestricted funds tolalled £289,18512022.. £273,172).
None of the trustees received any remuneration for their services or reimbursement of expenses.

The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires the Iruslees lo prepare financial statements for each financial
year which give a true and fair view of the stale of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application
of resources of the charity for that period. In preparing these financial slalemenls, the Iruslees are required to..
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consislenlly.,
observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP 2019 IFRS 1021.,
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.,
stale whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures
disclosed and explained in the financial slalements.,
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate lo presume that
the oharily will continue in operation.
The tnjstees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time
the financial position of the charity and enable them lo ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities
Act 2011, the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed. They are also
responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hen￿ for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and
detection of fraud and other irregularities.
The trustees are responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the charity and financial information included orb the
charity's website. Legislation in the United Kingdom governing the preparation and dissemination of financial statements
may differ from legislation in other jurisdictions.

Independent Examinerfs Report to the Trustees of The A W Lymn Centenary Foundation
I report lo the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 5 November 2023
which are sel out on pages 5 to 8.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordan￿ with the requirements of
the Charities Act 2011 {'Ihe Act'l.
I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying
out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section
14515llbl of the Act.
Independent examinerfs statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the
examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect..
accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act,. or
the accounts do not accord with those records- or
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and conlenl of accounts sel out
in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'lrue
and fair view, which is not a maller considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other mallers in connection with the examination to which allenlion should
be drawn in this report in order lo enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

ACCOUNTING POLICIES
BASIS OF PREPARATION OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance wilh the Statement of Recommended
Practice ISORPI "Accounting and Reporting by Charities" applicable lo charities preparing their
accounts in accordan￿ with the Financial Reporting Slandard applicable in the United Kingdom and
Republic of Ireland IFRS 102} 2019 (published October 2019), the Charities Act 2011 and applicable
regulations.
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised
as cost or transaction value unless otherwise slated in the relevant notelsl lo the accounts.
The trustees assess whether the use of going concern is appropriate i.e. whether there are any material
uncertainties related to events or conditions that may cast significant doubl on the ability of the
foundation lo continue as a going concern. The Iruslees make this assessment each year in respect of
a period of one year from the date of approval of the financial stalemenls.

The unrestricted A W Lymn Centenary Foundation Fund may be used for such charitsble purposes as
the trustees in their absolute discretion consider fit.
INCOME AND EXPENDITURE
Income and expenditure is accounted for on the accruals basis.

SUPPORT COSTS
Support costs represent expenditure in relation lo the adminislralion of the Charity.
INVESTMENTS
Investments are initially recognised at their transaction value and are subsequently measured at their
market value al each balance sheet dale. Market value is the quoted bid priTr al the reporting date.
Gains and losses are recognised in the statement of financial activities for the period.
DEBTORS
Short term debtors are measured at transaction price, less any impairment.
