Section D Achievements and erformance p
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The main infrastructure project to create a sanctuary is being developed further but has been significantly hampered due to the pandemic. The charity has supported many families suffering from genuine hardship during these difficult times. This has included wages for tendering the cows and cultivating land with full meals provided whilst on duty and for provisions when off duty.
Free healthcare is provided to all the workers and also to people in genuine need.
A housing shelter is being used to provide food and accommodation to anyone homeless or elderly seeking such support and under this provision full amenities are provided for as long as they are needed.
Medicinal veterinary care is provided for the purpose of nurturing stray and sick animals back to health. This has been mainly cows but also other animals requiring veterinary care and shelter.
Young children are being sponsored at local and neighbouring schools which provide a more cultural and spiritual focus to mainstream education. Milk from the cows is being offered to the local temples for use in the daily worship and also to support young children.
There is a hope that the service can become self sufficient and to progress with that goal the temple project has been expanded to encourage visitors.
There is still consideration of developing a cow manure gas plant which will reduce the electrical and gas costs and allow surplus to be sold to neighbouring farmers and villagers. Detailed analysis of this project remains to be sought with a view to a long term natural and biodegradable energy supply but this was not possible this year due to the pandemic.
There is also an intention to procure a cow manure brick making machine for construction and fuel.
Sundar Gaumukh Foundation has also continued to support other charities focusing on the same objectives namely LIVE (London Institute for Vedic Education) in collaboration with GIVE (Govardhan Institute for Vedic Education).
The focus with LIVE and GIVE is educational opportunities for girls whose families are in such financial hardship that they cannot afford school fees. GIVE is providing the oversight to ensure that the girls meet specific allocation criteria and will be monitored throughout the school year to assess progress.
The clean water objective has been expanded with the help of GIVE to install water pumps in villages where the access to clean water is a significant challenge.

remember to include the page numbers of additional sheets)
Respective responsibilities The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The of trustees and examiner charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,
-
to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act, and
-
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given examiner’s statement by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. Independent examiner's In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention (other statement than that disclosed below *)
-
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements:
-
to keep accounting records in
-
accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; and
-
to prepare accounts which accord with
-
the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act
have not been met; or
-
to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
