Most of the population of Luxor**<br>**are unable to pay for treatment for their**<br>**animals. The majority of animals treated**<br>**are working donkeys which are often the**<br>**only means of the owners making a**<br>**living. By ensuring the health of the**<br>**donkeys the owners are able to continue**<br>**to work them and provide for their**<br>**families.**<br>**Dogs are fitted with soft dog collars**<br>**which replace the often painful and**<br>**dangerous wire, chains or rope used by**<br>**the local owners.**<br>**The charity offers free spay and neuter**<br>**for dogs and cats to try to reduce the**<br>**population of neglected and mistreated**<br>**street animals.**<br>**Education sessions are carried out at the**<br>**veterinary centre to educate children on**<br>**the correct treatment of animals –**<br>**specifically dogs as they are the most**<br>**mistreated animal in Luxor.**|
