The majority of treatment is<br>for working donkeys and dogs but includes any<br>other animals belonging to the people of the<br>impoverished rural areas in Luxor, Egypt.<br>The charity also provides free soft tack, dog<br>collars and horse/donkey blankets.<br>The charity’s partner charity in Luxor works out<br>of a small veterinary centre on the west bank<br>of Luxor and we also fund additional mobile<br>clinics into the rural villages on a regular basis.<br>AWOL endeavours to educate the local animal<br>owners and the children in good animal care.<br>Much of this needs to be carried out verbally as<br>some of the local people are illiterate with<br>almost no education.|

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|In 2021 AWOL experienced difficulties with the<br>local manager of the veterinary centre in Luxor<br>which is run by our sister charity registered in<br>Egypt. AWOL’s managing trustee Angela<br>Robinson successfully lodged a formal legal<br>complaint against this man at the court in<br>Luxor. This culminated in the trustee and<br>management team at our sister charity in<br>Luxor being removed and replaced. The new<br>team are much more enthusiastic and<br>committed to the future success of the charity<br>and have made a number of improvements<br>since they were appointed in October 2021.<br>The veterinary centre has been improved,<br>security cameras have been installed and new<br>flooring installed. The new team have worked<br>closely with our managing trustee to discuss<br>and plan further improvements and the future<br>direction of the charity.<br>Mobile clinics have been increased when funds<br>allow so we can reach as many animals as<br>possible and plans are in place for a full-fitted<br>operation room which will be of great benefit<br>to the animals in need.|

I report on the accounts of the Animal Welfare of Luxor for the year
ended 31st December 2021 which are set out on the followin8 pages.
Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner
As the Charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts- you
consider that an audit is not required for the year lunder section 43121 of the Charities
Act 1993 (the Actll and that an independent examination is needed.
It 15 my responsibility to-
Examine the accounts (under Section 43 of the Act):
To follow the procedures laid down in the General Direction5 given by the
Charity Commission (under section 4317llbl of the Act),. and
To state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent examiner's Statement
My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directors given by the
Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records
kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It
is also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts,
and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The
procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an
audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
which give5 me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material aspect, the
trustees have met the requirements to ensure that:
proper accounting records are kept lin accordance with section 41 of the Act),.

with the accounting requirements of the Act; and
in my opinion, no attention should be drawn to any item/function or process
to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
