The Trustees preseni iheir report wilh ihe financial statements of the charity for Ihe year ended
31 Deceinber 2023. The trustees hai'e adopied the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by
Cliarilies: Siatemeni of Rccomniended Practice applicabl¢ lo charilics preparing their accounts
in accordance wilh ihe Financial ReportiTJg Standard applicable ii) Ihe UK and Republic or
Ireland (FRS 102) {effeclive l January 2015).
OBJECTIVES & ACTIVITIES
The Objects of Ihe Trusi are io fdise and receive monelary and non-moneiary donaiions io help
high risk children, wilh particular focus lo support ihe work of Children's Vision International
Incorporated in Bogola, Colornbia. Souih America.
The aims of the trust are io provide suppon in furthering the following objects {"the objecls")
for the benefit of chlldren, in particular bul nol exclusively those residing temporarily or
pernianenily in Bogoia, Colombia-
(a) Th¢ relief of sickness and Ihe prescr*'alion and prolcclion of health of children and/or
Ili¢ir families, including by as51Sling in the provision of medicines, clinics and
healthcare workers;
(b) The relief of financial hardship by making grants of money for providing or paying for
iiems , serl'ices or facililics such as food, cloihing and beddiiig.
(c) The advancemenl of the cducalion, including by providing and assisting in Ihe provision
of facilities, equipmenl and teachers:
Id) To help homeless and orphaned chtldren b), providing funding for accommodaiion,
carers and ninning orphanages.
(e) To provide for ihe relief of children who are sick or disadvaiiiaged by reason of their
social or economic circumslances by Ihe provision of holidays, outings and olher
recreational and leisure aclivilies provided in Ihe inleresls of social welfare and
designed lo improve iheir conditions of life.
During ihe year under review, donations amountin8 lo £J53,74712022 - £14J,98J), were made
lo Cl)ildren's Vision tniernalional Inc., (CVIII in BoBola, Colombia and a further £9,600, (2022
£9. 000), was paid in support fees lo Ihe Richard D. Sanderson in his role as General Director
in Colombia and Principal Ambassador in reporting back 10 the charity sponsors in the UK and
Ireland
Public benefit
The Charity Commis5Ton has sei oul general principles lo be used in assesstng the public benefil
of UK chariltes. To ensure il meeis ihese principles. Ihe Trusl niusl be able to demonslrai¢ thai
115 work benefils the piiblic or a seclion of ihe publi¢. Ihai people on low incomes are able lo
benefit, and ihat any privale benefil is incidental. In exercising their poiiiers and duties, the
Irustees have given due ¢onsideraiion 10 the Charity Comrnission's guidance on public benefit.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE

beyond to have been salisfaclory again this year as the impaci ofihe M'ork amongsi children and
their families has been maintained and further enhanced. The Iruslees wish io place on record
their grateful Ihanks io all who have so faithfully supponed the work of the charity Ihroughoul
Ihe year.

Total expenditure including donaiions amounted io £170,956 compared lo £157,285 in 2022

£21,588 in 2022.

The Maln Activitles for the Year
During 2023 New Hope for Children has been able lo supporl Children's Vision, Bogola
Ihrough grants lo support Ihe following aspecls ￿,hICh MTere of public benefil 10 the childrei)
and adults in Colombia supported by the foundaiion. In undemaking these aclivities the iruslees
h41l'e had regard lo the guidance issued by the ChaTlty Commission on public benefit..
l. The relief ofpoi'ertv and the provision of a home- Supporting the provision of
four eslablished children's honies for children in high-risk siluaiions. To break the
immediate effects of poijerty through helpin8 proi'ide (and develop) a home. food and
caring Slaff, cloihing, protection and support. {Approx. I I I children helped
constaiiily Ihroughoui the year). Richard Sanderson was provided with support fees
both for his work as General Director in Bogola. and also within ihe UK and Ireland
as priiicipal ambassador in raising awareness and financial support for Ihe charily by
giving lalks and repons of the activities and impaci of the work in Colombia.

2. Proi'iding an Educalion. Supponing ihe provision of a school in Colombia. Helping
make a provision for leaching staff. and therefore an education to break the cycle of
poverty ihal has been seen in generations of Ihe families of each child (Approx. 185
childr¢n helpcd continuously.) Educaiion from nursery through to the end of High
School. Specific granls were given loii'ards further and Iiigher education, benefilling
three young adulis in accordanc¢ M'iih Ihe donor's inslruclions. Please nole thai Ihese
three mentioned changed durin8 ihe year as some gradualed.
Spe¢i#l Educational Project. Funds were granlcd for the extension ofihe upstairs of
Ihe Children's Vision Garage/Mainlenance building. This allowed for Ihe space needed
lo relocale the Elccirical and Carpenlry workshops. This is ofgreal value 10 Ihe young
adults who will be able lo conlinue Iheir fornialion with ihese important life skills.
Funds granted for sections l and 2: £146.490 (please nole Ihai ihis includes a
provision for wages, ulilil}' bills and food Ihai is shared between Ihe homes and the
school, and also coniribuled loN'ards caring for those who are sick ihrough the
proi'ision of nurses}. The Iolal includes £3,756 specific funds for Higher and Further
Educaiion Scholarships. iii accordance wilh Ilie doiiors ivishes. £12,650 was graiiled
for Ille building exlcnsion and relocaiion of ihe Eleeirical and CaTpenlry workshops.
Also incliided. Iherc was £2,359 granied lo provide for a teacherliranslalor 10 leach an
educational course for Ihc l O, and I I, grade high school classes cniilled "Skills for Ilie
Workplace", and "Advanced Skills for ihe Workplace." Fron) Ihese funds the students
were a￿'arded relevanl gifts in relalion 10 Iheir achievemenis on Ihe coiirse. In addiiion,
support fees provided 10 Richard Sanderson were £9,600.

Ihc homes and school Inoied in l & 2 aboiye). This will have included food packs for
Ihe faniilies of Ihe children helped in Colombia. in addilion lo many other persons froni
sitiialions of extreme poveny. Provision of transport ihrough sp¢cific granis 10 help
viih p¢lrol and diesel and vehicle mainienance costs. Transpon was of benefil in
providing108islical help for recrealional, health and support aclivilies. Also, for
humanitarian aid brigades helpiiig ihousands of people. And the transpon of building
malerials for lh¢ projecl reporled in (1 & 2) above.

4. The rellef of poi'erty. Specific granis were given for gifts for ihe children in
dccordance lo donor inslruclions.
Funds granted: £395 for gifts for the chffildren.
5. Caring for those who are sick. Helping lo proi'ide ihe nursing and Professional
Support staff for the children {approx. 185 children inlerniitlently Ihroughoul Ihe year).

6. UK Volunteers. A ieam of volunieeTS visiied from Ihc UK to Children's Vision in
Bogola 10 guide and leach the "Skills for the Workplace" and "Advanced Skills for the
Workplace" courses. In accordance with ihe donors wishes. funds were granted for the
food and lodging cosis for Ihese volunleers.

The total of fvnds granted for lh¢ public benefit frorn Neil, Hope for Children io Children's
Vision in Bogota during 2023 was £153,747.
Special Bullding Projecl. During 2023. New Hope for Childreii has receii'¢d funds lo the
Ioial of £41,905 which will be granied lo Children's Vision in Bogoia, Colombia during 2024
for the purchase of Ihe "Deiileronomy House.. This will be Childreil's Vision's 5, children's
home in Bogola. The home will provide a safe and loving place 10 live from Monday lo
Friday for approx. 25 boy5 belween the ages of 5 10 13 years old. These children coine froni
very poor and vulnerable families. The inilial property purchase will take place during the
first 6 months of 2024 wilh a further 6-monih period for remodelling. This ivill be Ihe
ulmination of the original vision of ihe founder ofchildren's Visioii 10 have 5 homes, a
school and a medical unil. These fiinds are reflected in ihe accounis as "Resiricied Funds, in
addition io funds for the Higher Educaiion Granls that will also be Iransferred io Bogola
during 2024. Pan of Ihese funds werc raised due 10 Ihe incentive given by a specific UK
donor who offered ll Matching Grani.

the work on Social media platforms, organising speaking Oppor￿nitIeS and for the work of
the irnsiees in running New Hope for Children. The number of hours invesied would be
approximalely 65 hours per monlh.

Significance of Achievements
During 2023 New Hope for Children has been able Io SUPPOT1 ChildTcn's Vision. Bogola
Ihrough granis lo support Ihe following aspecis which were ofpublic benefil mainly lo Ihe
children and in some pan 10 adu115 in Colombia supponed by the foundalion:
Children's Homes. Providing granis for wages towards well trained care staff
working in the homes. To provide a caring Chrisiian faniily enviroi]menl ivhere
chTldren hai'e slabiliry. love and professional siipport. They are helped lo overcome
Iheir family diffjculties and rcccivc hcalTng 10 both physical and emoiional hurt5. To
develop inlo siable adulis who know Ihal Ihey have the support of a family.
2. Humaniiarian Aid - Support also for ihe humanilaTian aid programme where
Ihousands of needy families are helped wilh don31ions of cloihes. shoes, bdby p3¢ks.
blankets and many other anicles. Approximately 2.500 families helped during 2023.
3. Education. Providing grants towards wages for ivell Irained leachers working in the
school. To help each child develop Ihe knowledge and skills Ihal will help break the
cycle of poverty in gcneralions of their families. To enable each child 10 have a stable
future and prepare Iheni for life as a responsible adult. Specific grdnls were given
iowards higher educalion, benefilling three young adu115 in a¢cordance wilh the
donor's in51ruclions.
4. Hunger Relief. Helping provide l 000 meals and sTJacks a day io children Ihal were
suffering from malnulrilion. To proi'ide good nulrilion which 15 reflecled in Ihe
growth of each child, good healihy defences against illness and the besi possibility io
function well and oplimise Ih¢tr learning. In addilion, Ihe provision of food lo give
hunger relief lo needy mountain communilies.
5. Medical Care. Provision of a nurse for Ihe medical care ofihe Children's Vision
children.
6. Mainlenance..'Con8lruciion. Funds granied for the extension ofihe Upslairs of the
Children's Vision Garage/Mainlcnanc¢ building. This allowed foT Ihe space needed
to Telocate thc Elecirical and Carpenlryi ii'orkshops. In addilion, oiher iniponanl
maintenance projeeis.

7. Utilities. Gas, W3ter, Electric: Telephone. Helping provide Ihe basic needs for four
children's homes and a school.
8. Transport and Vehicles. Granls for ITansportalion costs. The vehicles are used for ihe
Iransportalion of ihe children foT Medical appoinlmenls. oulings and educational
purposes. Also. used for ihe transportaiion of donaiions thal helped over 2,500
families around the city and be)'ond M'iihin ihe lerritory ofcolombia. In addition, for
the Iranspomalion of biiilding malerials purchased for ihe building projecl nienlioned
in (6).

Reserves Pollcy
The TNslees recognise Ihe need lo eslablish and maintain a level of res¢rves that enables
financial stability. Ihal meets Ihe requiremenis of working Capital and cushions against
fluctuaiions of income levels and in ihe financial perfo￿an¢t of the Trust. Ai 31, December
2023, the reserve8 of the charity amoiinled 10 £47.84S (2022 - £5 S .414). although Ihis reserve
incliides specific gran15 a￿'all1]i8 allocaiion. The chariiy has made effom lo n)ainlain ils reserve
levels. safeguarding in lemis of continuance. The Inislecs have no uncenainiies in regard to Ilie
charity not conlinuing as a going concern.

Constitution
The Charity was fornied under a Trust Deed dared 2 April 2008 and is gov¢rned by Ihal Trust
Deed. The chariiy is conslituied as an uninco4)oraled charity.
Recruitment & Appointment ofTru$tees
Mr Richard D Sanderson and Miss Margaret R. Swift were founder Iruslees and ihe Temainder
of Iruslees were appointed by resolulion of ihe ITU51ees. Any fuiure Iruslees will be appointed by
resolution ofihe Irusiees.

in writing of boih the amouni and s¢ttl¢ment date.
The financial staiemenis have been prepared in accordance with the Statements of Recommended
Practice.. Accouniing and Reporting by Chariiies (SORP 2005) issued in March 2(M)5 and applicable
UK Accounting Standards and th¢ Charilies Aci 2011.
(c) Expenditure
Liabililies are recognised as expenditure as soon as there ts a legal or construclive obligation
commiiiing the charity to thai expendiwre, li is probable that a transfer of economic ben¢fils will be
required in seiilement and the amouni of ihe obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is
accounted for on an accruals basis and has been Classified under headings and aggr¢gale all cosl
related to the cat¢gory. Where costs cannot be directly attributable lo particular headings they haN'e
been allocated io activilies on a basis consistent with the use of the resources.

The charity is exempt from lax on ils charitable activities

There has been no realised gains or losses on inveslments during the year.
Note 2- REMUNERATION
No remuneration ha5 been paid LO any of the trustees in their capacity as t￿SleeS. Hoivever ihe sum
of £9,600 has been paid as a support fee to Richard D. Sanderson in his role as the General Director
in Colombia and Principal Ambassador in reporting back io the charity sponsors in Ihe UK
and Ireland.
