Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

The UKRAA supported an international conference for people interested in amateur radio astronomy. The European Conference on Amateur Radio Astronomy 2025 (EuCARA25) was held at Harwell Oxfordshire for 3 days in September, this is the first time the event had been held in the UK. 78 people participated and there were talks, technical demonstrations, site visits to facilities on the Harwell campus. UKRAA provided financial and practical support to the Conference. UKRAA sponsored the catering for a social event and two Trustees were instrumental in the organisation of the event.

A new muon detector was developed and is now available for purchase. This device is a significant improvement on the original produce and has sold well. This device has been purchased by schools, universities and interested amateurs. We have also supplied detectors to science based charities to use in their education and outreach work, for example high altitude balloon flights for school age children.
