REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES
YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2025
The Trustees have pleasure in submitting the Report and Accounts for the year ended 30 September 2025.
Objects of the charity
The objects of the trust are:

To advance the Christian faith in Bath and in such other parts of the United Kingdom or the World as the Trustees from time to time may think fit, and to fulfil such other purposes which are exclusively charitable according to the law of England and Wales and are connected with the charitable work of the Trust.

To relieve sickness and financial hardship and to promote and preserve good health by the provision of funds, goods or services of any kind including through the provision of counselling and support in Bath and in such other parts of the United Kingdom or the World as the Trustees from time to time may think fit.
Governance
The policy and operating decisions of the charity rest with the Trustees who meet regularly to monitor the activities of the Trust.
New trustees are appointed by the Trustees.
Review of Activities
Father's House Bath is a group of Christians who meet together as a church and who collectively seek to love and serve Jesus Christ, are committed to the love and welfare of each other, and seek to bring a blessing to the areas where they live and work.
Father’s House, Bath’s main emphasis is the expression of Christian life and activity through: knowing the Father's heart; honouring the word and the spirit; focusing on prayer and worship; expressing God's love and compassion both near and far; receiving a healed heart, and; being a family of God’s sons and daughters.
Father’s House continued to meet on Sunday mornings together. This venue also affords space for our children’s ministry. We meet most Sundays as a church family but still enjoy the benefits that Zoom offers. There are also a number of midweek gatherings that are Zoom only, and these are ideal for those who live outside of the city, or even further afield and even from other countries. Father’s House church family also meet in homes mid week and for regular prayer meetings. An important ingredient for us as a family is a monthly rhythm of prayer and bible readings that also offer the option of Zoom connection. This rhythm also presents a setting for young people to come together for food and friendship.
We continue to be able to provide training and conferences.. In particular we have enjoyed the ministry of Susan Wright (Loved into Life) who has been amongst us several times during the year. There have been two weekend in person conferences and two online 6 weeks series. Susan Wright ministers in inner healing and trauma recovery and we had a growing number of people being trained and ministered to. This relationship with Susan Wright will continue to be helpful to us as a community and be helpful to those in the wider community too. We were able to support this ministry in Manchester, Tewkesbury and other locations in the UK
The Trustees of Father’s House were delighted to invite Keith Branch to become a Trustee of FH. KB’s diligence since taking on the role of FH’s Bookkeeper had augmented and further reinforced his importance to FH. Extending this invitation was unanimously agreed by all current Trustees. KB accepted the invitation. This appointment was formalised on the Charity Commission website.

Whilst there has been a reduction in the charities reserves the finances for Father’s House, Bath remain resilient. Income and expenditure remaining stable and largely to budget. Father’s House has therefore continued to provide financial support to a range of individuals and organisations involved in Christian mission and service, locally, within the wider UK and overseas.
Father’s House, Bath has worked to maintain its connections with other churches in the city of Bath area and the wider South-West region and has fostered links with other Christian groups further afield within the UK.
In all its ministry and activities, Father’s House, and the Trust itself, remain reliant on the support and dedication of the volunteers from within the church community. The Trustees readily acknowledge the time, effort and service given and gratefully express their thanks to all those who give their support to the Trust’s activities.
In planning the activities the Trustees have applied the guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission.
Financial Review
Income for 2024/25 was £92,808 compared to £93,755 in 2023/24, and mainly consisted of donations and offerings. Expenditure for 2024/25 was £97,305 compared to £83,496 in 2023/24. £18,800 was paid out in gifts to institutions and individuals, compared to £17,774 in 2023/24. This resulted in a decrease in reserves of £4,450 compared to an increase of £10,259 in 2023/24
As at 30th September 2025, the sum of £25,719 was held in the Trust's bank account and cash reserves, of which none was restricted for purpose. (30th September 2024: £30,216 of which none was restricted in use)
Reserves Policy
The Trustees maintain an agreed Reserves sum of £7,500 in the Trust’s bank account. This sum is kept under review to ensure it continues to provide suitable and sufficient financial cover for Father’s House, noting that the Trust does not have any significant medium or long term liabilities. At the year-end, unrestricted cash reserves were £25,719.
Trustees' Responsibilities
Charity law requires us as Trustees to prepare financial statements for each accounting year which record the receipts and payments of the charity for the year.
We are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable us to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011.
We also have a responsibility to safeguard the assets of the charity and to take reasonable steps to prevent fraud or any other irregularities.
A Risk Assessment Register is maintained and reviewed regularly at Trustee meetings.

TO THE TRUSTEES OF
FATHER'S HOUSE, BATH
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Father's House, Bath ('the charity') for the year ended 30 September 2025 on pages 5 to 8 following.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the 2011 Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with the accounting records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

1 Accounting policies
The accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis and comprise a statement that shows the charity's receipts and payments, a statement that summarises the charity's assets and liabilities and related notes. The accountancy profession have determined that only accounts prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards present a 'true and fair' view and, as these receipts and payments accounts have not (and cannot) be prepared in accordance with accounting standards, these accounts do not present (and are not intended to present) a 'true and fair' view of the charity's financial activities and state of affairs.
General funds are unrestricted funds which are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the charity. Designated funds comprise unrestricted funds that have been set aside by the trustees for particular purposes. Restricted funds are donations which are to be used in accordance with specific restrictions imposed by donors; they include donations received from appeals for specific activities or projects.

4 Transactions with related parties
The charity has no employees, being mainly served by volunteers, and under a Provision of Services Agreement Mr M Brooks, who is a trustee, received £16,947 (2023/24: £16,068) for leadership and pastoral duties.
Mrs M Brooks, wife of Mr M Brooks, received £14,122 (2023/24: £13,390) for services provided in a leadership and pastoral capacity.
Payments were made to an adult child of Mr & Mrs M Brooks, who received £3,600 (2023/24: £4,600) to assist with their support as intercessionary missionaries at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City.
Payments were also made to an adult child of Mr & Mrs M Brooks who received £1,028 for the provision of church administration services (2023/24: £786).
All payments are permitted by the Governing document.
Other than direct reimbursements of expenses made on behalf of the church, no other amounts were paid to any trustee or to any person connected to them.
