Message of the Chair

As we gradually chart our way out of the pandemic into a hopefully more secure future, and none of us would like to hear the word Covid-19 ever again, I can not help but reflect on year 2020. I want that our charity and community should always remember the steel resilience, commitment and compassion of our staff, volunteers, supporters and senior community one to another.

A core element of our service model had ground to a halt overnight, and yet our seniors were in greater need than ever before—in need of nutritious food, housing where they could shelter in place, health support and COVID testing, and safe ways to stay connected. In order to keep delivering on our vital mission, we had to do things differently-and fast. We're proud to say that FOZD rose to that challenge. In a matter of days, we more than tripled our home-delivered meals implemented new socialization programs adapted our wraparound model to a socially distanced world all while meeting the needs of a 32 percent increase in clients. But none of this would have been possible without you, our generous supporters. It's our great pleasure to present the following report as a testament to all you've made possible. We thank you for your partnership.

R. Herman
