**Objects:** TO PROMOTE THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR IN THE SOUTH WEST REGION OF ENGLAND FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC IN GENERAL AND IN PARTICULAR PEOPLE OF AFRICAN, AFRICAN-CARIBBEAN, ASIAN, CHINESE AND OTHER MINORITY GROUPS, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO ARE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ON THE BASIS OF COLOUR, RACE OR NATIONALITY, BY MEANS OF:3.1  LIASING BETWEEN CHARITIES, VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND OTHER GROUPS ON RELEVANT ISSUES INCLUDING THOSE THAT AFFECT MINORITY GROUPS;3.2  IDENTIFYING NEEDS IN THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR AND ESTABLISHING PROJECTS OR POLICIES TO ADDRESS THEM;3.3  PROVIDING INFORMATION ON THE OPERATION OF, OR PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED BY THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR IN GENERAL AND MINORITY GROUPS IN PARTICULAR;3.4  ACTING AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR ESPECIALLY ON BEHALF OF MEMBERS OF MINORITY GROUPS IN RELATION TO GOVERNMENT POLICIES AND LEGISLATION.

**Activities:** BSWN supports BME and other marginal community organisations in the South West. Its vision and mission are to promote and advocate on behalf of the BME and other marginal Voluntary and Community Sector organisations (BVCS). To strengthen the BVCS by increasing influence in policy arenas, developing the capacity, providing support,  facilitating skills and knowledge sharing across the sector.
