I report to the Trustees on my examination of the financial statements of The Mosu Charltable Trust (the Charity) for the Year
ended S April 2024.
Responsibilities and basls of report
As the Trustees of the Charity you are responslble for the preparatSon of the flnancia15tatements in )ccordance with the
requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act).
I report in respect of my examination of the Charity's flnancial statements carried out under Section 145 of the 2011 Act. In
carrying out my examlnatlon I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commlssion under section
1451511bl of the 2011 Act.
Independent examlner's statement
Your attention is drawn to the fact that the charity has prepared financial 5tatement5 accordance with Accounting and
Reportlng by Charltie5 preparing their accounts in accordance wlth the Flnancial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 Sn preference to the Accounting and Reportin8 by Charities.. Statement of flecommended Practice

Charlty Informatlon
The Mosu Charltable Trust is an unincorporated charity controlled by Its governing document
1.1 Accountlng convention
The financial Statements have been prepored in accordance wlth the Charity's governlng document, the Charitles Act
2011, FRS 102 'The Financlal Reportlng Standard applicable in the UK and Republlc of Ireland" I'FRS 102,1 and the
Charities SORP 'Accountlng and Aeporting by CharltSes'. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charltles
preparing their account5 in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland IFRS 1021" leffettive I january 20191. The Charitv Is a Public Beneflt Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The Charity ha5 taken odvantage of the provislons In the SORP for charltles not to prepare a Statement of Cash Flows.
The flnancial statements are prepared In sterling, which is the functlonal currency of the Charlty. Monetary amounts Sn
these flnanclal statements are rounded to the nearest £.
The financial 5tatement5 have been prepared under the historical cost conventlon. The prlncipal accounting policies
adopted are set out below.
1.2 Charltable funds
Unrestrlcted funds afe available for use at the di5cretlon of the Trustees in furtherance of their charltable objective5.
Restricted fund5 are subject to speclflc conditions by donor5 or grantors a5 to how they may be used. The purposes and
Uses of the restrScted funds are set out In the notes to the financial statements.
Endowment funds are Subject to specific condStlons by donors that the capital must be malntalned by the Charlty.
1.3 Income
Income is recognised when the Charity Is le8ally entitled to It after any performance condltlons have been met, the
amounts can be measured rellably, and it is piobable that income will be received.
Cash donation5 are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recoinlsed once the Charity has been notlfled of the
donation, unless performance conditlons require deferral of the amount. Income tax recaverable In relatlon to
donations received under Glft Ald or deeds of covenant is recognised at the tlme of the donatlon.
Le8acles are re¢ogni5ed on receipt or otherwlse If the Charlty has been notified of an Impendlng dlstribution, the
amount is known, and receipt is expected. If the amount 15 not known, the legacy 15 treated a5 a contingent asset.
1.4 Expendlture
Expenditure is recD8nised once there is a legal or construrtive obligatlon to transfEr economlc benefit to a third party, it
Is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement, and the amount of the obllgatlon can be
measured reliably.
Expenditure is classified by activity. The costs of each activity are made up of the total of dlrect Costs and shared cost5,
including sUPPOrt costs involved in undertaking each activity. Direct Costs attributable to a single activity are allocated
directly to that activity. Shared costs whlch contrlbute to more than one activity and 5UPPOrt costs which are not
attributable to a single activity are apportioned between those activitles on a basls consistent with the use of resource5.
Central staff costs are allocated on the basis of time Spent, and depreciation charges are allocated on the portion of the
asset's Use.

Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposlts held at call with banks, Other 5hort-term liquid investments

8asic financial assets, which include debtors and cash and bank balances, are initially measured at transaction price
includlng transaction costs and are subsequently carried at amortised cost uslng the effective interest method unle55
the arrangement constltutes a financing transactlon, where the transaction is measured at the present value of the
future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial assets classified as receivable within one year are not
amortised.

Debt instruments are subsequently carried at amort15ed cost, using the effective interest rate method.
Trade creditors are obligations to pay for goods or services that have been acqulred in the Ofdinary course of operatSons
from suppllers. Amounts payable are classified as current liabilities if payment Is due within one year or less. If not, they
are presented as non-current liabilities. Trade creditors are recognised initially at transactlon prlce and subsequently
measured at amortised cost uslng the effectlve Interest method.
