1. Trustees' Report 2024–2025
The Trustees of the Kent Islamic Centre are pleased to present their annual report for the year ended 5th April 2025. Throughout the year, the Centre has remained steadfast in its mission to serve the spiritual, educational, and social needs of the community in accordance with its charitable objectives.
Key activities undertaken during the year include:

Daily congregational prayers, fostering spiritual growth and unity among community members.

Weekly Friday sermons, regularly attended by over 200 individuals, promoting collective worship and community cohesion.

Operation of a weekend Islamic school providing religious education to children. The school continues to receive positive feedback from parents and students for its welcoming environment and the valuable moral and spiritual guidance it offers.

Provision of daily iftar meals during the month of Ramadan, creating an inclusive and supportive atmosphere that encouraged generosity and strengthened community bonds.

Responsibilities of the Trustees:
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 2011. They consider that the audit requirement of section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 does not apply and that an independent examination is required.
Responsibilities of the Examiner:
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 5th April 2025. My examination was carried out in accordance with the Charity Commission’s guidance for independent examiners (CC32). An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual
items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning such matters.
Independent Examiner’s Statement:
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act 2011; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
