THE Mtris TRUST STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES RESPONSIBILITIES Law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare receipts and payments accounts and statement of assets and liabilities for each financial year, which properly present the charitys receipts and payments for the year together with its assets and liabilities at the end of the year. The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose, with reasonable accuracy at any time, the financial position of the charity and which enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice and the regulations made under Section 154 of the Charities Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
THE METIS TRUST REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST AUGUST 2024 The trustees present their report and the financial Statements of the charity for the year ended 31 st August 2024. These financial statements are prepared in accordance with the charTtls trust deed and the recommendations of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice and comply with applicable law. 1. Structure Governance and Mana ement The charity is under the governance of its Trustees, as set out on page 1 of the Financial Statements. The day to day management of the charity is undertaken by the Trustees. 2. Ob"ective5 and Activities To support general charitable purposes and voluntary bodies by making grants to organisations for the public benefit. When pLanning the actiVTties for the year, the trustees have considered the Commission's guldance on public benefit. 3. Achievements and Performance The charity achieved it5 objectives during the year as set out above. 4. Financial Review Income received from investments has continued to support charities and beneficiaries through the aid of grants. INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE mls TRUST I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 st August 2024 which are set out on page5 5 to 6. Res onsibilities and Basis of Re ort As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act,). I report in respect of my examination of the charity's financial statements carried out under Section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 145(5)Ib) of the 2011 Act. Inde endent Examiner's Statement I have completed my examination. I can confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination givlng me cause to believe that in any material respect: la) accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity required by Section 130 of the Act; or (b) the financial statements do not accord with those records. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understandfng of the financial statements to be reached.
