The Relief of sickness and Poverty in the south east of Romania by the
making of grants of money for providing or paying for services, items or
facilities
Summary ofthe objects ofthe
charity set out in its
governlng document

Commission on publlc benefrt
oreen's Kids exists to raise funds in the U.K which are transferred to
elp fund the activities of a Romanian registered charity 'Fundatia
Cuvioasa Paraschiva" (The foundation of St Paraschiva) - FCP.
The money raised in the U.K. helps to pay some of the running costs of
this chanty. which is entirely stsffed by Romanian personnel ex￿pt for
Ihe director, Noreen O'Gomian, a retired distrirt nurse from the UK.
CP has 2 elements
1) We cared for around 10 severely disabled children and young
adutts in a residential setting providing pretty much one to one
Ca￿ for many of the most disabled children.
2) We visit families in a wide area around Slobozia providing support
for families caring for sick children and young adults in their own
homes often INing in conditions of considerable poverty.
Summary ofthe maln
activltles undertaken for tho
public benefit in relation to
these objects (include wlthin
thls section the statutory
declaration that trustees have
had regard to the guldance
issued by the Charlty
Commission on public
benefit)
The support given depends on their needs - everything from
supplementing food and Vlfinter fuel (wood usually) to providing
nursing care. sometimes involving help with domiciliary palliative
care.
Most importantly we provide advi￿ and advocacy to make sure these
very vulnerable families are getting the grants and support to which they
are entitled from the Romanian govemment. We also facilitate access to
appropriate medical care from the Romanian health sep4ices when this is
peeded and often help with transport to medical appointments
Addltional details of objectives and activities (Optional Infomiation)
We continue to encourage local Romanian involvement in the work of the chaiity.
Local schools donate shoe boxes vJ,ith Chrislmas presents for poor families.
We are well supported by the Orthodox church which regularly make donations in k'snd of food etc.
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to',Noreen's Kids loyal supporters and volunteers in the UK, without whose
fundraislng activities none of FCP's,work would be possible.

Section D
Achievements and performance
It became dear during the year.
1)That the unit in which the which the residential children were housed
would not in the long tenn be available to us.
2) In order to comply with Romanian law, we needed to provide separate
accommodation for the children On￿ they became adults. ff we were to
continue to care for them.
A decision was made to transfer the children into purpose-built faciltties
run by the Romanian authorities. but we would continue to provide staff
to help with the care of the children during a transition period and would
continue to visit them on a regular basis.
The transfer took place in August of 2023 and our staff are still helping
with their care.
We continue to monitor their progress and have been impressed with
how well they are doing.
In the meantime, we have increasingly focussed on the community
project, which is continuing to provide regular support to large numbers of
families who are caring for chronically sick children and young adults in
their own homes in a wide area of lalomrta Calarasi and Braiele counties.
Increasingly the management of this project is being transferred to
Romanian staff in line with the charity's policy to maintain the long-tenn
viability of the vital work that they do.
The work has involved regular visits to vulnerable families, providing
extra fuel during Winter months where necessary and sometimes extra
food throughout the year. helping to improve housing to relieve the
dreadful condÉtions in which some of the families live, providing medical
advice and care, helping with transport particularly to hospital
appointments - many sick children default from follow-up care because
of the difficulty in getting to the appointments.
Above all we are an advocate for families who might othe￿[Se have no
voice.
We help to ensure that these families get the help to which they are
entitled.
