Peace Direct finds, funds & promotes local peacebuilding. We find & fund committed, pragmatic and effective individuals and organisations working at the frontline of conflict. We support and promote their work, believing it is critical their message is heard and their knowledge shared. We believe that local peacebuilding should be at the centre of all strategies for managing conflict resolution.

Objects: 1.To Promote Conflict Resolution And Reconciliation For The Public Benefit With A View To Relieving Suffering, Poverty And Distress And Building And Maintaining Social Cohesion And Trust Within And Between Communities By: A. Investigating And Identifying Probable Causes Of Conflict B. Examining Probable Solutions To The Conflict C. Mediating With Parties To The Conflict And Others Together To Discuss Possible Solutions Enabling Them To Build Relationships Of Trust D. Recommending To The Parties Involved Measures Which Are Likely To Result In The Resolution Or Prevention Of The Conflict Or The Reduction Of Any Humanitarian Crisis That May Ensue From The Conflictprovided That All Activities Shall Be Balanced And Shall Maintain Or Enhance The Charity's Commitment To Remaining Impartial, Respect For The Rule Of Law, Internationally Recognised Human Rights And Principles Of Non-Violence. 2.To Promote Equality And Diversity And Racial And Religious Harmony For The Public Benefit By:a. Advancing Education And Raising Awareness In Equality And Diversityb. Promoting Activities To Foster Understanding Between People From Diverse Backgrounds And To Promote Good Relations C. Promoting Knowledge And Mutual Understanding Between Different Racial And Religious Groups D. Cultivating A Sentiment In Favour Of Equality And Diversity 3. To Promote Domestic Human Rights By:a. Obtaining Redress For The Victims Of Human Rights Abuseb. Contributing To The Sound Administration Of Human Rights Law C. Promoting Respect For Human Rights Among Individuals D. Eliminating Infringements Of Human Rights In This Clause 'Domestic Human Rights' Shall Mean Those Rights Which Are Enshrined Or Incorporated Into The Domestic Law Of The Country In Which IT Is Proposed To Promote Those Rights.
