The objectives of the church are to advance the Christian religion in accordance with the Church’s beliefs i.e. The Church accepts the Christian faith as set forth in the Old and New Testaments and as summarised in the Apostles’ Creed.

Weekly Sunday worship conducted in Cantonese, Mandarin and English. Sunday School for children and youths, bible study groups, house groups and fellowship groups, prayer meetings, discipleship training, evangelistic meetings, student ministry, outings, retreats and home visits.

## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**
## **Sunday Worship Services**
In 2025, we continued to develop our second congregation in Hemel Hempstead, which began its first Sunday service on 26th March 2023. The purpose of this expansion is to support brothers and sisters living in the southern areas of Luton by reducing their travel distance. Since 15[th] October 2023, we have hired the function hall of Alexandra Road Congregational Church every Sunday, and the weekly services there have been running smoothly and fruitfully.
Attendance growth slowed last year, with only a few new families arriving from Hong Kong under the BNO scheme. Average weekly attendance was approximately 100 people in Luton and 50 people in Hemel Hempstead.
## **Sunday Schools and Youth Fellowships**
Our children’s Sunday school classes continued to be held jointly with the local English churches whose premises we use.
- In Luton, our children joined the Sunday school of Central Baptist Church.
- In Hemel Hempstead, they joined the children’s ministry of Alexandra Road Congregational Church.
Through Bible teaching, games, and activities, the children learned God’s Word in a joyful and nurturing environment.
For teenagers, we organised youth and children fellowships for both congregations:
- **Hemel Hempstead:** Children: Every First Sunday each month
- **Luton:** Youth: Every other Sunday afternoon
## **Preaching and Sermons**
We continued to provide Cantonese interpretation for English or Mandarin sermons in every Sunday service. In addition to messages from our own pastors, we also invited guest speakers from COCM and other ministries.
Our 2025 church theme remained unchanged:
**“Equip ourselves to grow and serve. Love one another, unite and share.”**
## **Cell Groups and Bible Studies**
With the increasing number of brothers and sisters, our cell groups have increased to15 groups altogether (12 for sisters and 3 for brothers) last year. They were organised geographically (e.g., Luton, Harpenden, Hemel Hempstead) and typically consisted of 4–8 members. Most of

them are using Cantonese, except two are using Mandarin.
They all met regularly, studying the Bible together and occasionally exploring special themes. Many also organised outings or gatherings in members’ homes to strengthen fellowship.
## **Retreat and outing for congregations:**
We had organised a day retreat in All Nations Christian College on 20[th] September 2025 and a day trip to Grafham Water on 5[th] May 2025.
Both activities were very successful, and brothers and sisters were enjoying them very much.
## **Outreach and Visitations**
We continued our regular outreach visits to local Chinese takeaway shops and restaurants, usually in small teams of two or three brothers and sisters.
Council members and co-workers also made many individual visitations to church members and newcomers. For elderly members unable to attend Sunday services, monthly Holy Communion was provided during the visitation in their homes.
## **Prayer Meetings**
Online prayer meetings were held once every month:

- **Wednesday (Mandarin)**
Average attendance ranged from 3 to 8 participants.
## **Donations to Missionary Organisations**
We continued to support various evangelical organisations and missionary workers around the world. Total offerings in 2025 amounted to £11,170.
We also supported a child through World Vision as part of our commitment to global compassion.
## **Support for Theological Students**
We prayerfully and financially supported several former theological students who previously completed block placements in our church. Many of them are now serving as missionaries in different parts of the world.

## **Assistance to Those in Need**
We continued to provide practical care for elders living alone, broken families, divorcees, widows, and others facing difficulties. Support included:
- Visitations, care, and counselling
- Food supplies
- Translation of English correspondence
- Assistance with medical appointments
- Help applying for social benefits (unemployment, housing, council tax reduction, low-income support, state pension, pension credit etc.)
For newcomers from Hong Kong, we offered guidance on local culture, housing, practical daily living, and legal matters such as traffic incidents. Most importantly, we helped families find suitable schools for their children and employment opportunities for the adults.

The trustees have considered the operation of the church and believe that the equivalent of six months’ expenditure is an appropriate amount to be held in reserve for our church. Such an amount would provide working capital to cover fluctuations in income and expenditure.
