4. Management of the Charity
The Trustees are supported by a Club Committee consisting of:
- e Chairperson e Treasurer e Secretary
e Welfare Officer e Team Representatives
Other positions may be elected from time to time to assist with the running of the club. Trustees are elected by the Committee.
5. Achievements and Performance
The club had 23 teams playing in the 24/25 season with over 350 players from U7 to open age registered. There are also in excess of 50 volunteers associated with the club, either operating in a coaching capacity or involved with its day to day running. Training sessions are now run each weekday evening with matches played Saturdays and Sundays.
There are now at least two teams at each age group and the club is able to provide playing opportunities for all ages and abilities. Our free Saturday morning sessions, aimed at introducing girls to football, have continued to be popular and work as a way of feeding girls into teams as and when they are ready.
Whilst the majority of income continues to come from subscription payments, this is supplemented by income from the clubhouse at Valley Leadership Academy. A trailer has also been purchased to sell drinks and snacks at Alder Grange. Sponsorship generally covers the cost of playing kits and has seen an increase with the introduction of player sponsorship for first team players. The club’s main expenditure is in relation to pitch hire and we have managed to negotiate favourable rates with Rossendale Leisure Trust and Alder Grange High School who has also given us permission to upgrade and use a grass pitch at the school.
Ongoing initiatives include working with the Football Foundation, the FA and other bodies to improve local playing facilities.
