The Purple Pltryhouse is an incorporated compjny, limited by g￿rantee, incorporated July 19th 2Iy)7. The company was established under a memorandum of association which established the object and powers of the charitable company and is governed under its article of association. In the event of the nursery being wound up members would be required to pay no more than £1. The directors of the company are also charity tnJstees for the purpose of charity law and under the Companls Articles are known as members of the Management Committee. All parents/carers of children who (ffter￿ the nursery are able to put themselves forword to be elected as a trustee. Qther people who have an interest in the nursery but do not have children atterKlin9 can be co-opted onto the committe& Under the requirements of the Memor(mdum and Articles of Association the members of the marngement committee are elected to serve for a period of l year. after which they mutt be re-elected ot the next Annuol General Meeting, serving a M￿<imUM of 6 consecutive years, 4 years for co- opted members. unless there are no alterr￿lveS. All members of the Mamgement Committee give their time voluntarily and receive no benefits from the charity. FIr￿ncIal review: The Management Committee has established a policy whereby the funds held in reserve should be up to 6 months of the ann￿1 expenditure. The morw would enable the nursery to remain open if numbers of children attending fell. It would give a reasonoble time frame to undertake an (Klvertisirwj campaign. During the last academic year the maiorify of the money coming into the nursery came from W(Thickshire County Council in the form of the free child funded entitlement, the nursery education grant. This provides 15 free hours of nursery care per week for eligible pupils which is usually taken over 3 hours per day 5 days per week. Some parents chose to take the 15 hours over 3 dw. The nursery tries very hard to be f lexible to accommodate parent's wishes. Just over 15 /• of the money come f rom fee payin9 parents. The nursery had three 2 year olds who were funded under the governments To Help programme. The nursery had 34 children who qwlified for the 30 hour free entitlement. Even though The Purple pl￿hOuSe is a charity in the past we have been in the fortunate position to be able to fundraise for other chorities and good causes, for example f und raising for the local hospice. Christmas For the past few yeors the children have written letters to Santa. one item is then selected from each letter and purchased by the staff. These gifts are for nursery and to be enjoyed by all of the children. It hos been an amazing success and enioyed by all of the children, but we understand the additional cost to the nursery is signif icant so the decision was made for each child to be given o small gift just before Christmas. All children attended the Christmas Fty of which nursery provided all the food and decorations asking porents for a contribution of 50p. Many parents did not contribute to this cost. Learnin ortunities Living Eggs also joined us. they bring in eggs which are kept warm in an incubator until they hatch. This has provided a wonderful opportunity for all the children to understand how to care for new born chicks. As the chicks have grown they ore then given the chance to hold them and also feed arKI water them. In the past we have been lucky enough to be oble to provide different opportunities f or each child's learning and development at no additional costs to parents, and we are lookin9 to add more schemes similar to this one in the future. funds permitting. Keir- The itar man We have been in the fortuThite Position to carry on with the guitar sessions delivered by Keir. His sessions ore so successful and continues to be enjoyed by all children. The nursery was not able to pay for the whole cost so in consultation with p(rents it was agreed that parents would contribute £1.00. Keir come f rom a nursery backgrourd and he eryges wonderfully with all children superbty. Endo ear activities Bethany Chalmers Chair The PurpFe Playhouse

Parents and staff continue to support this arrongement. Traini ortunities Staff continue to keep up to date with relevant and appropriate training opportunities. Staff undertake online training frequently and it is felt amon9 staff thot new kl￿WIedge and skills is essential to the smooth running of the nursery.
