STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT Governing document The charity is controlled by its governing document, a constitution adopted on 26th November 2006 as amended on 28th October 2007 and constitutes an unincorporated charity. Risk Management The Trustees have a dutyto identify and reviewthe risks to which the charity is exposed and to ensure appropriate controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error. Objectives and Activities Review of Activitles The Holy Communion Services are celebrated in Malayalam on the first three Sundays and in English on all the fourth Sundays and where five weeks are present English Holy Communion Services are held on both third and fifth Sundays to support the leadership of Youth Fellowship. Our parish actively participated in all Diocesan programs such as Marthoma Meet/Diocesan Inauguration, Diocesan Sunday celebration and Diocesan Carol Service, The 17th Annual Parish Day was celebrated on the 21st April 2024 following the Holy Communion Service led by our newly appointed Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. PD Dr. Joseph Mar Ivanios Episcopa. During this holy communion service 16 of our children became communicant members of the church. Our Diocesan Bishop's felicitation programme was also included in our parish day meeting. Parish Sports Day was organised on 26th August 2024 at Jubilee Green Park, Bradley Stoke. Children, youths and adults along with our Vicar and family participated in different sports activities, the winners were presented with prizes. The haniest festival was organlsed on 1st and 8th of September 2024 on a prayer group basis. Most parish members actively participated in this service and donated various items for auction as thanksgiving offertory for the blessings received from the Almighty. Our Parish member5 in good number participated in the Mar Thoma meet/Diocesan inauguration on 29th September 2024 at the Bethel Convention Centre, Birmingham, We celebrated Family Sunday on the 27th October 2024 with a Holy Communion Service. The annual parish convention was held from 15th to 17th November 2024. Rev. Merin Mathew, Vicar, St. Andrews Mar Thoma Parish, Edinburgh was the Speaker for the convention. The theme for this yearfs convention was'walking with Jesus: The cross and the resurrection" Carol rounds were held in nine areas under our prayer groups. The representatives and members took responsibility as convenors to support the event. Locations were Bath, Weston-super-mare, Yeovil, Taunton, North Bristol, South East Bristol, Gloucester, Swindon & Hereford. The Christmas carol service was held in the parish on Saturday, the 21st December 2024. Rev, Fr. Eldhose K G Karukapallil, Vicar of Mor Baselios Yeldho Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Bristol was the chief guest and delivered the Christmas message. Ecumenical Carol Service "Gloria 2024" was held on the 26th December 2024 at St. Vincent Church, Embleton Road, Bristol, and wa5 h05ted by St. George Knanaya Catholic Mission, Bristol. Our Parish Choir presented two carols during the service. It wa5 well attended by the Episcopal Churches from Bristol. The watch night service started on the New Year's Eve with singing, intercession, testimony and message from the Word of God, prior to starting the Holy Communion Service. Our Vicar, Rev. Sanoj Babu Mathew led the Service. Page 2

Our parish Choir took part in this year's Diocesan Christmas Carol Service held on 4th January 2025 at Cotton Green Church, Tamworth. Our Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Ivanios Episcopa led the service. Harmony 2025, a musical event was organized on 22. February 2025 at Trinity Academy, Bristol. Well known singer5 from India performed in this event and was well attended by the people from the parish and outside. This year's inter-prayer group quiz and song competition was held on 9th March 2025, following the Holy Communion Service. Dr. Sudeep Thomas and Mr. Mathew K Thomas, members of the Hermon Mar Thoma Church, Birmingham, were the judges invited for quiz and the song competition. This year we have launched a new Neighborhood Friendship initiative by participating in Southville Primary School Summer Fayre. Our Edavaka Mission, Sevika Sangham and Youth Fellowship were actively involved in this initiative. We look forward to developing new Friendship Initiatives with our neighbors and neighboring organisations. Our church is a mission-oriented church, and our parish also has been actively involved in mission and charitable work here in UK and in India. This year, our parish supported three local charities named One25, In Hope and Beloved. As part of the Education Sunday Celebration in our parish, we collected a dedication offertory from our children and donated the amount to the local school's Winter Food Hamper Appeal. We have a Sunday School with 180 chlldren In 18 classes. Sunday School organizes various events for th the spiritual nourishment of our children. Vacation Bible School was held on 30 May to 2nd June 2024 with thetheme"GO PRO" Mr, Ciby Mathew and Mrs. Sunu Ciby, members ofsalem MarThoma Church, Southampton, were the leaders. We have an active youth group which meets regularly with different programs to help one another to grow more in their spiritual lives. They are also involved in charitable work here in UK and in India. We have a talented choir group which supports worship service, parish convention, Christmas carol service, Ecumenical carol service, etc. The Sevika Sangham (Women's wing) of St Thomas Mar Thoma Church, Bristol, plays a major role in our church, they meet every Sunday after the service with different interacting programs. They observe World Day of Prayer every year. This organization raises funds to be donated to charitable organisations and other causes. Our Edavaka mission (parish mission) focuse5 on the spiritual growth of our parishioners by conducting retreats, intercessory prayers, chain prayers on every Friday night, monthly night vigil, etc. Many of its members deliver word of God during worship services and prayer meetings. Edavaka mission co-ordinates worship and meditation during lent season. We have six area prayer groups in our parish, and all were meeting together on allocated days for prayer meeting led by our Vicar. We give all glory and honor to Lord Almi8hty for HIS providence to our parish and its members. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all our parishioners for their various contributions and prayers towards the overall growth of our parish. Inde endent Examiner's Re ort to the Trustees of St Thomas Mar Thoma Church Bristol I report on the accounts for the year ended 31 March 2025 set out on pages five to nine. Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 20111"the Act"}. I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5}(b) of the Act. Independent examiner's statement I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair, view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. ACCOUNTING POLICIES Accounting convention The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and "Accounting and Reporting by Cha riti es: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to cha rities prepa ring thei r accou nts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021" (effective l January 2019) Incomlng resources All incom ing resources are included on the Statement of Financial Activities when the charity is legally entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy. Resources expended Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classif led under headings that aggregate all C05t related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis con515tent with the use of resources, Tangible fixed assets Depreciation is provided zt the following annual rates in order to write off the cost less estimated residual value of each asset over its estimated useful l ife.
