Production of the British Journal of Anaesthesia. Provision of grant support for education and research.
Objects: 3. Objects3.1 Primarily:3.1.1 To Advance And Improve Theoretical And Practical Knowledge And Skills In All Branchesof Anaesthesia, Critical Care And Pain Medicine, And Related Topics And3.1.2 To Promote The Health, Safety And Welfare Of All Persons By Improving Anddisseminating Knowledge And Skills Of Anaesthesia, Critical Care And Pain Medicineand Thereby Reducing The Suffering And Dangers Of Anaesthesia And Surgery,by Procuring The Publication And Dissemination In Any Suitable Media Of A Journal ("Thejournal") In The Above Fields Of The Best Available Quality From Any Legitimate Source. Thejournal Shall Be Called "British Journal Of Anaesthesia", And Shall Consist Principally Of Peer-Reviewed Reports Of Clinical And Laboratory Investigations, Reviews Of Other Papers, Exposition Of Scientific Theory, Case Studies, And Editorials. All Reports And Other Items Shall Be Selected For Publication In The Journal On The Basis Of Their Fulfilment Of The Objects Set Out In Sub-Clausses 3.1.1 And 3.1.2 Above, Irrespective Of Any Other Consideration Or Interest Therein, Whether Of The Charity Or Any Other Person.in The Pursuit Of This Object IT Shall Be Permissible :-(I) To Charge Recipients Of The Journal Or Any Part Thereof Such Costs As Are Reasonable Inview Of The Value Or Cost Of The Content And The Resources Of The Reader; And(ii) To Charge The Authors Or Other Providers Of The Material For The Publication Suchcharges As Are Reasonable Or Common For Such Publication. 3.2 Secondly, And Conditional Upon The Primary Object Above Being Substantially Achieved:3.2.1 To Encourage And Facilitate Research In All Branches Of Anaesthesia, Critical Care Andpain Medicine And Related Fields By Making Grants Available To Suitable Persons To Assist Them With Academic Fees And Materials, Salaries, Facilities, Equipment, Accommodation And Subsistence, And Such Other Costs As The Charity Shall Determine;3.2.2 To Advance, Improve And Maintain The Education Of Students, Researchers And Medicalpractitioners In All Branches Of Anaesthesia, Critical Care And Pain Medicine And Related Fields, By Means Of The Publication Of A Journal And The Publication And Dissemination In Any Suitable Media Of Specialised Educational Materials;3.2.3 To Promote And Assist Continuing Education In All Branches Of Anaesthesia, Critical Careand Pain Medicine And Related Fields By Publications, Lectures, Demonstrations, Pamphlets And Any Other Suitable Media;3.2.4 To Promote The Objects Set Out Above By Giving Donations And Subscribing To Other Charitable Bodies And Societies Here Such Gifts And Subscriptions Shall Be Used For Promoting Objects Closely Similar To Those Above.
