THE EMILE FAURIE FOUNDATION CHARITY REPORT

– JANUARY DECEMBER 2021

After the effects of Covid the school projects have made a steady return to their riding sessions. Not all of our projects returned immediately but we noted by the summer term most had applied to return to their riding which we were delighted to be able to support.

The Foundation also received new applications from projects in Corby and Exeter where the children come from the most disadvantaged estates, many of which have experienced trauma and significant disruptions in their lives which can result in exclusion from school. The group is taking 10 children each week to ride at a nearby Riding Centre and reporting positive results!

We also had more applications throughout the year including Longdon Hall School in Lichfield who have many children coping with emotional and mental issues and these children started riding at Gartmore Equestrian Centre who also look after 2 other projects of the EFF.

During the year we were able to offer more schools funding although we have been careful regarding the amount which currently stands at £500 per term for the schools to ensure we can continue with all our current projects.

FUNDRAISING

Due to Covid, fundraising has been difficult, but we were able to raise over £7000 from our on-line Auction in December 2020 which was a great help for our funds.

The Foundation also were lucky enough to receive a cheque for £5000 from the British Dressage Supporters club which disbanded after Covid and had funds available which they kindly donated to the EFF.

The EFF also received a generous donation of £3000 from a client of Emile Faurie whose father passed away and was donated in his memory.

We also received donations from friends and supporters throughout the year.

Our Christmas Charity Ball was able to go ahead in November, we were very lucky as it was the weekend just before another part lockdown before Christmas! The night was a sell out and combined with our online Auction we raised nearly £15000! A huge boost to our funds!

Our aim for this year was to be able to offer riding again to the children who have experienced such challenging times during Covid. We have had such positive feedback from teachers and project workers and some lovely letters from the children. We feel we have succeeded in this and have been able to keep our funds healthy so going forward into 2022 we can continue to help more schools and projects.

Our vision for 2022 is to provide more help and support and give more children the opportunity to experience the positive effects of being with horses.
