The directors present their report and accounts for the year ended 31st May 2025.
Principal Activities
The Directors present their Report and Accounts for the year ending May 2025.
St Lawrence Pre-School (North Wingfield) offers and provides Early Years Education for children from the local community. A range of schools receive the children from St Lawrence Pre-School.
The Pre-School follows the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum - a child-centered curriculum that children work through at their own level of development. it provides a balance of child-centered activities and adult-led learning, both indoors and outdoors.

St Lawrence Pre-School was inspected by Ofsted in November 2023 and received a rating of Good. The report was published in December 2023.
The Managers consistently aim to lead and work with the whole staff team to deliver the curriculum to the children in the setting; also responding to the children with extra needs; recognising them and sourcing the extra support that is required for their development.
The Pre-School continues to be well-attended; there is also a waiting list. Changes to the staff team have occurred during the year. Recruitment has taken place, aimed at maintaining a strong staff team.
The Board of Directors has supported St Lawrence Pre-School throughout the year. It meets regularly, and the Directors are ready to respond to requests from the Managers regarding staff, children and families. The Directors endeavour to ensure St Lawrence Pre-School is managed in line with their policies and procedures and also meeting the requirements of Ofsted.
Future
St Lawrence Pre-School will maintain its ‘Good’ Ofsted rating but aim to potentially achieve a higher . . rating on the new inspection framework. It will continue to provide Early Years Foundation Education for local families and aiso continue with their good reputation for management of children who have extra needs.

The world is a challenging one; there is constant change in so many forms. It is a wide range of needs and abilities that will equip them for the future; the learning starts at Pre-School level.

Finance
For the year ended 318 May 2025 St Lawrence Pre-School reflects a deficit of £4,673. The Statement of Financia! Activities shows a total income of £218,070 and total expenditure of £222,743.
The increase in employer National Insurance Contributions (NICs) from 13.8% to 15% has had a significant impact to staff wages. The increase in Employment Allowance has helped to assist in the rise of NICs contributions.
Resources have been purchased throughout the year to support the development of children’s learning that focuses on widening experience’s, physical development, and promoting independence and communication plus we were also able to contribute towards the re-surfacing of the Schoolrooms car park.
Policy on reserves
The charity has a reserves policy in place and the balance held in the deposit account as of 31st May 2025 was £67,798.
