The directors presenl their report and accounts for the year ended 31 st May 2024.
Principal Activities
St Lawrence Pre-school ( North Wingfield ) offers and provides Early Years Education for children
from the local community. A range of schools receive the children from St Lawrence Pre-school.
The Pre-school follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum - a child-centered curriculum
that children work through at their own level of development. It provides a balance of Child-￿ntered
activities and adult-led learning, both indoors and outdoors.
St Lawrence Pre-school was inspected by Ofsted in November 2023 and received a rating of Good
- the report being published in De￿mber 2023.
The management team continue to lead the staff effectively" the whole staff team use their
knowledge and experience to deliver the cufficulum. The children and their families also receive
support from the staff team; there are children who have extra needs that are recognised and
receive the extra support they require for their development.
The Pre-school continues to be well-attended. Changes to the staff team have occurred during the
year. Recruitment has taken place aiming at maintaining a strong staff team.
The Board of Directors has supported St Lawrence Pre-school throughout the year. It meets
regularly, and its, members are ready to respond to requests from the management regarding staff,
children or families. The Directors endeavour to ensure St Lawrence Pre-school is managed in line
with their policies and procedures and also meeting the requirements of Otsted.
Future
St Lawrence Pre-school will maintain its Good Ofsted rating but will also strive to be able to
potentially achieve an Outstanding at a future inspection. It will continue to provide Early Years
Foundation Education for local families and also maintain their reputation for management of
children who have extra needs.
The Board of Directors will maintain their support and assistance for the Pre-school, staff, children
and families.

The Pre-school has a good standing in the community. The demand for places continues. families
recognising the strengths and consistency of the Early Years Foundation Stage Education that is
received by the children. In addition - the wide range of needs and abilities that are more evident in
the ever-changing world that children are growing up in are recognised and responded to with
support and understanding.
St Lawren￿ Pre-school looks forward to its future.
Flnance
For the year ended 31st May 2024 St Lawren￿ Pre-school reflect a surplus of £11,845 The
Statement of Financial Activities shows a total income of £205,241 and total expenditure of
£193,396.
St Lawrence Pre-school was in a stable financial position at the end of the period, with the charity's
main income coming from government funding of earfy years education that we receive for the
children, and this is then supplemented by private fees payable by parentslcarers for non-funded
sessions.
Wrth the government announcements of the National Minimum Wage that came into force from April
2024, we appreciate that staff have trained and gained qualifications to look after children and
nearly all staff have their Level 3 Childcare. We like to recognise this and have always tried to pay
slightly higher than minimum wage. This year is no exception. and all staff wages have been
increased to reflect th￿.
ReSoUr￿S have been purchased throughout the year to support the development of children's
learning that focuses on widening experIen￿'s, physical development, and promoting
independence and communication. A new stainless steel trough sink costing £1,930 designed with
younger children in mind has been installed into the main hall. The short projection means they're
suited to little hands.
Policy on reserves
The charity has a reserves policy in pla￿ and the balance held in the deposit account as of 31st
May 2024 was £65,325.

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the
Company forthe year ended 31 May 2024.

basls of report
As the chall￿S trustees of the Company (who are also the directors of the
company for the purposes of company law), you are responsible for the
preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the
Companies Act 2006 (Ihe 2006 Acr).
Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Company are not required
to be audited for this year under Part 16 of the 2006 Act and are elFgible for
independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of your
charitys accounts as carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011
(Ihe 2011 Acf). In carrying out my examination, I have followed the Direc-
tions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145{5)(b) of the 2011
Act.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that rK> material matters have
come to my attention (other than that disclosed below ") which gives me
cause to believe that:
