Building for the Future
CEO Report
Financial Year 2020-2021
Like most organisations, the charity experienced difficult times during 2020 as we began emerging from the pandemic and all the ensuant restrictions. We had been forced to close our Centre for disabled children, but were able to benefit from several government grants as well as the Job Retention Scheme. Towards the end of 2020, our services had begun to resume, though were then stopped again due to further lockdown restrictions.
During 2021 usage of our Centre resumed to its full capacity and we were able to increase our services as well as launch a new service for young adults with disabilities. Fundraising was difficult during the summer months but, towards the end of the financial year, things picked up and we ended the year in good financial shape. We are looking forward towards the possibility of expanding our premises and growing our service going forward.
