The Family Survival Trust is a registered charity (No 1121388) whose mission is to prevent,
and to provide information, on coercive control, cultic behaviour and psychological
manipulation. We support those affected by groups that use these techniques. We educate
regarding the risks these groups pose to individuals and society and seek appropriate
controls on these groups, activities
ACTIVITJES
We hold a variety of support groups for ex-members and family and frlends of cult victims
We respond to qu¢ri¢s from cult members, ex-cult members and families and friends of cult memb¢rs
with infomiation, signposting and support
Publlc education - an annual public evenL most recently featuring two ex-cult members as speaker
Media - we respond to media inquiries with inforniation about cult activity, how cults work, warning
signs of cults, and about what measures we would like to see to prevent and hold cults accountable
Scholarship- w¢ support scholars at all levels by responding to their queries and offering specifi
resources for their research.
Policy - we work to support new legislation to hold cults to account for the damag¢ they inflict on
members and families
Jnternational and natlonal cooperation - we participate in the European network of cult awareness
organizations.. FECRtS, and the National Working Group on Spiritual and Ritual Abuse
ACHIEVEMENTS in 202314
We supported over l 00 individuals affected by cults through our online support groups. We responded
to approximately 250 queries, including those affect￿ by cults, media, and scholars
We contributed to a higher level of understanding of what cults are and how they operate through
participating in a variety of documentaries and contributing to press articles
Our most recent public education program was attended by over 80
We developed briefing for MPS and Pcers to explain the nature of the Cult problem in the UK and the
need for improved le8islation
We strengthened our governanc¢ through new policies and welcoming new board members
We re￿iVed grant funding for the National Lottcry
