BARWAQA RELIEF ORGANISATION

Trustees' Report For the year ended 31 May 2024

Chairperson’s Statement

On behalf of the Barwaqa trustees and staff, I would like to express our appreciation to all our trustees, staff members, volunteers, donors, and participants. Together, we have completed several important projects during the 2023–24 period. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the efforts of all these teams—this work could not be done by me alone. That is why I want to acknowledge and thank every group involved.

During this period, we have successfully carried out the following projects:

Although we completed these projects smoothly, we faced some challenges—particularly financial ones. The year 2023–24 has been financially difficult for a small organisation like ours. Due to these issues, we unfortunately lost some of our staff, as we were unable to cover costs. As a result, we were also delayed in submitting our annual return.

However, we remain hopeful that things will improve financially in 2024–25. We are committed to continuing our work and making a positive difference in our community.

Thank you.

Kind regards, Mrs. B. Bashir Chairperson, Barwaqa

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPEORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 May 2023

I report on the accounts of Barwaqa Relief Organisation for the year ended 31 May 2024, which are set out on page 4 to 8.

respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under the section 145 of the Charities Act:

to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act); and

to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basic of independent examiner's report

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair' view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent examiner's statement

In the course of any examination, no matter has come to my attention:

(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in the any material respect, the requirements:

to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act;

to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act have not been met or

(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
