Silence Heritage Site Trust Annual Report 2022/23
The year was largely taken up with monitoring the ever enlarging collapses and land movements whilst trying to find a way forward on remedial works. This has been complicated by the need to negotiate with FBFL and the Peak Park Authority and although great efforts have been made to maintain momentum, progress has been limited.
The site remains closed, including public footpaths. This looks set to continue into the following year.
The Trust remains financially solvent, and received a Mineral Rights payment from FBFL. As it appears the mine may be going to pause production, it seems unwise to assume there will be further payments in the near future.
Our income this year comprised £40,454.60 from FBFL, and a total of £605 from bank and build-
ing society income. The accounts have been verified as shown in the attached cash book.
