**The trustees confirm they have referred to and had regard to the guidance contained in the charity commission’s general guidance with regard to public benefit when reviewing the trusts aims and objectives and in planning activities, including grants.**
**With due regard to the guidance issued by the charity commission on public benefit we continue to support a church, offering regular Christian services of worship and teaching.**
**We also support a residential school for poor children who would otherwise be unable to receive an education. Education is currently provided from reception through to Standard 5 and children are supported to attend years 6-12 (up to GCSE A level equivalent) at local schools and colleges. No school or accommodation fees are charged.**
**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**
**Children who are late starters to school are provided with classes to achieve basic numeracy and literacy initially and further education is supported to meet needs.**
**Young people who want to continue their education further than A level are funded giving opportunity to attend local colleges and universities throughout India on achieving entrance requirements. All reasonable expenses are funded.**
**We relieve sickness and preserve health by facilitating health care from professional doctors, nurses and other health care specialists at hospitals in India and by organising healthcare camps.**
**We relieve financial hardship by providing grants to destitute families and those socially disadvantaged, through a local welfare society and by direct payment to those known to trustees.**
**We provide small grants to enable young people who have been educated with our support to begin independent living.**
**We have paid for children to be issued with documentation: birth certificates and identity cards. This allows them to register for school, national exams and to prove their age empowering them to access help to refuse underage and forced marriage.**

Section D Achievements and performance **Church services on church premises are well attended and many Summary of the main visitors attended celebration services at Christmas. The church is achievements of the charity continues to be financially independent. during the year Church services are also held at Morning Star School with children parents staff and visitors encouraged to attend. We fund hostel accommodation on two sites for children attending Morning Star School and for children and young people supported by us to attend other educational institutions. We are funding and providing support to build a boys’ hostel for a residential school where current hired premises no longer meet the needs. This building project is being monitored by an architect and structural engineer to comply with Government planning and safety standards in India. During this year strengthening was agreed to meet a higher standard of resilience. Internal walls are going in. Morning Star School has been provided with a replacement generator as the existing one needed frequent repairs leaving the school without a reliable electricity supply. Four volunteers visited projects in 23/24 and were a great encouragement to staff and students. They were also able to provide verification of works being undertaken. Several friends from the U.K also visited and gave positive reports. Funding has been provided to buy Laptops and mobile phones for young people on university courses as required. We support 50 residential school students at Morning Star School. 9 new students were admitted to Morning Star Residential School in October 2024 and have settled in well. 2 Further students joined in December and another two, having been orphaned in March 2025. All children taking internal school exams passed and have been able to progress in their studies. High school students achieved excellent grades and have been placed in schools suiting there needs to continue their education starting GCSE equivalent courses. Three Children took GCSE equivalent exams and have started ‘A’ levels at local colleges. A further 3 passed their first year ‘A’ level exams and have started the second year. All have been funded with additional tuition as required. Funding was provided for trips to a Science Park, Wonderland, and for meals out giving children and young people a broader experience. We are funding 11 children in Further/Higher Education and post graduate courses. 1 student gained a degree in Physical Ed and has enrolled to do a post grad teaching qualification. 2 students doing BSC in Physical Education, 2 doing Social Work, 1 having completed a degree has begun a masters course in Social Work. 1 doing BSC in Animation, 2 doing a BSC Nursing, and 1 doing a BSC**

## Section D Achievements and performance
**Airlines, Tourism and Hotel Management, 2 doing General Nursing Diploma. Mentoring is provided to all students on request.**
**We have given some small independent living grants to young people who have finished studies and started working. We are delighted to see students we have funded to gain qualifications, working in the motor industry, teaching, nursing, Occupational Therapy, rehabilitation and more.**
**We have facilitated a number of hospital admissions, treatments and investigations for: fractures, dengue fever, heart conditions, diabetes management, and conditions such as, kidney stones, malaria, dengue fever, chicken pox and stomach infections.**
**We continue to run immunisation programs, health checks and dental checks and treatment for all the children in our care and others brought to us who are unable to afford healthcare. We have funded treatment as needed following check-ups.**
**We teach about good nutrition, hygiene and healthy lifestyle to improve the health and wellbeing of children and families attending Morning Star School and church and their communities.**
**Trustees have undertaken training in safeguarding and working internationally using material provide by the charity commission and other organisations.**
