To advance the understanding of the experience and nature of mental illnesses, to promote the understanding of the impact on behaviour and personality of the acquisition of power,in politics and business, to advance the education of pupils and staff at the Maudsley Hospital and other psychiatric centres, and to advance the education of the public in the subjects of philosophy and psychiatry.

Objects: 1. To Advance The Education Of The Pupils At The Institute Of Psychiatry At The Maudsley And Other Psychiatry Centres By Providing And Assisting In The Provision Of Facilities (Not Required To Be Provided By Universities Or NHS Trusts) For Education; And2. To Advance The Education Of The Public In The Subject Of Philosophy And Psychiatry
