Building on VfL survey data, the study proje¢ts a Substantial rise in veg.ns in UK ¢are homes by 2031. It estimates that up to 4% of residents aged 65+ may be vegetarian and 0.7% vegan- equating to more than 13.000 vogfjtari8n8 and 2.400 vegans requiring appropriate m¢als and support. In January 2025. VfL convened a panel on Mental Capacity & Diet in Care. streamed live on YouTube. Contributors frorn the Mental Health Tribunal (Scotlandl. Pegaso University and the Salvation Army examined the relationship between diet and decision-making capacity.
