Risk Management
The major rlsks to which the charltable company Is exposed have been identifled and reviewed, and systems or
procedure5 have been establlshed to manage those rlsks. The major rlsks are;
Temporary Cash flow problems. We avold these problems through applylng our reserves pollcy (see below),
Injury to a member of the public or an artist during a production or rehearsal. We carefully risk assess and adlust
all activitles to maximi5e safety. We also ensure we have publlc Ilabillty Insurance and employer's liablllty
Insurance whenever we are undertakln8 activitles.
Reputatlonal damage caused by poor critical or audlence response to a production, We work with experienced
art15ts and regularly evaluate the progress of projects to ensure high quallty. An advantage of our long track
record Is that one poor project Is unllkely to ruin our reputatlon.
Organlsatlons who commls5ion u5 are unhappy with the work we produce. We carefully agree wlth
commlssloners what we wlll produce and engage them in frequent dialogue as a project develops to ensure that
we are meetlng the agreed targets and produclng somethlng they are satisfled with. Through applylng our
reserves pollcy Isee below) we ensure that we always have enough money to remain solvent If a commlssioner
withdraws fundlng for a project.
Failure to engage suff iclent members of the public and deliver publlc benefit. Trustees review projects to ensure
that they wlll deliver publlc benefit. We invest in marketinE and press activitles to ensure that our productlons
wlll reach good numbers of members of the public. We also belleve In the Importance ofthe depth of
engagement of audience member5 beyond Simply the numbers of those engaged.
Digital risk, concerning protectin8 the intellectual property and onward use of digital activities and safely
secu ring and processing data given many OF the charitable company's activities are delivered digitally, We place
great emphasis on protectlng against these risks and have extensive strategies in place to do so.
Loss of talent. Much of the success of Fast Familiarfs work relies on the talent of the creatives who work for us,
We seek to ensure that we can continue to work wlth these creatives by glving them interesting and challen8lng
work and remunerating them reasonably well {but in line wlth our position as a charity).
Rese￿e5 Policy
The Trustees monltor their creditors each year to ensure that they have sufficient reserves to meet their ongoing
Ilabilitles. The Trustees keep a mlnlmum of £10,000 in reserve {and normally considerably morel to cover cash flow
problems whlch can be caused by funders who tend to withhold a percentage of funding until an evaluation has been
delivered or to allow us to remaln solvent In the event that a commissioning organisation does not pay us. We also keep

Forget What You Know
A pervasive game about surveillance, clvll rl8hts and processes of structural dehumanisatlon.
Forget What You Know u5e5 pervasive game as an Inoculation tactic. situating players in a counter-factual world
within our own where civil rights are being eroded In the name of security.. where a group of people are being
Systematically deprlved of their humanlty. To create this immersive world, the experience draws on accounts by
Jews in 1930s Germany whlch describe the legislatlon and rumour-mongering whlch laid the foundatlons for the
Holocaust. Participants follow digital clues to real world locations, where they uncover secrets about what15
happening. What action will they take? And will everyone make It to the end? Forget what you know mixes

Durlng thls year we recelved a seed commlsslon from Dr Ellen Pllsworth and Professor Davld Brauner at the

Canaries
We were commlssioned by JW3 to undertake some work developing a piece explorlng how dlfferent people can,
because of thelr lived experlence and sense of identity, look at the same object and have radlcally dlfferent
emotions and responses. The idea was that this would result In an in5tallatlon in which vlsltors look at objects and
have headphones on whlch they can hear dlfferent characters describlng their response to the object and the
reasons behlnd It. Objects mlght include thlngs as diverse as an England flag and plastic tupperwares. Durlng thls
