OBJECTS (1)  THE TRUSTEES SHALL HOLD THE TRUST FUNDS AT THEIR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION FOR THE PURPOSES OF ALLEVIATING THE FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, SICKNESS OR THE EFFECTS OF OLD AGE OF ANY PERSON WHO HAS SERVED OR IS SERVING (OR ANY DEPENDANT OF ANY SUCH PERSON) IN ANY MILITARY UNIT OR FORMER MILITARY UNIT OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED KINGDOM WHICH INCLUDES OR INCLUDED THE DESCRIPTION "LONDON IRISH RIFLES" IN ITS TITLE, INCLUDING ANY PART TIME OR TERRITORIAL ARMY UNIT.(2)  IF AND IN SO FAR AS THE INCOME AND PROPERTY OF THE CHARITY IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THE OBJECT SPECIFIED IN CLAUSE 2. (1) ABOVE, THE TRUSTEES MAY APPLY IT FOR ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSE IN CONNECTION WITH ANY MILITARY UNIT OR FORMER MILITARY UNIT OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED KINGDOM WHICH INCLUDES OR INCLUDED THE DESCRIPTION "LONDON IRISH RIFLES" IN ITS TITLE, INCLUDING ANY PART TIME OR TERRITORIAL ARMY UNIT.

**Activities:** Grants are made to alleviate distress of all past members of the London Irish Rifles and their immediate dependants, and of all serving members of the London Irish Rifles in The London Regiment, Army Reserve.  Support is given to the Regiment's Pipes and Drums Band in the execution of their duties to parade for funerals and other acts of remembrance.
