The trustees who are also directors of the charity for the purposes of the Companies Act
2006, present their report with the fmancial statements of the charity for the year ended 31
March 2024. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by
Clwities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities pr￿arIng their
accounts in accordance WAth the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective l January 2019).
I. ORGANISATION STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Mount Zion Christian Community Church is a registered charity (No. 1120468) and a private
company limited by guarantee (No. 06041528), governed by a model Memorandum and
Articles for local Assemblles of God in Great Britain and Ireland, adopted by speclal
resolution on 14th March 2007.
The charlty Is managed by its Board of Trustees. A minlmum of three directors must always
exlst. Membership of the board Is made up of the Senior Pastor, 4 members of the Church
drawn from a wide variety of disciplines, to ensure a wide skills mix exists to manage the
affalrs of the charity.
The Board meets formally monthly to monltor and deal wlth charity matters.
New dlrectors are appointed to the board by existing directors perlodicallv.

The objectives of the charity as stated In our Model Memorandum document are for the
benefit of the public:
a, Advancement of the Christian Faith by the Statement in such ways and such parts of the

b. To relieve sickness and financial hardship and to promote and preserve food health by the
provision of funds, goods or services of any kind including through the provislon of
counselling and support in such ways and paths of the UK, or the world, as the dlrectors

Mount Zion Church has excelled in its mission of fostering splrltual growth, communlty
engagement, and organisatlonal excellence. This year has been marked by impactful events,
strategic outreach, and a clear alignment with the church's vision to serve Its congregation
and broader community. The following report highlights the spiritual vitality and
organisational strength underpinning these accomplishments.

also create a strong sense of unity and shared purpose.
2. Communlty Engagement
This year saw a strengthening of community ties through collaborations and external
outreach;
Birmin8ham City Council training sessions enabled MZCC to contribute to civic
education and leadership development.
Memorial servlces and weddings hosted by the church brought together members
and extended networks, emphaslslng Incluslvlty and shared celebrations of life's
milestones.

The introductlon of dynamic weekly sessions such as "First Love" and multi-day conferences,
coupled with targeted event5 like the Men's Conference and Gospel Concert, has expanded

this year serves as a springboard for future opportunities and expanded Influence.
V. MAINTAINING AND SECURING GROWTH
Agaln, we 8lve thanks to the membership and attendees of MZCC for their
committed 8lvlng, creatlvlty and 8eneral commltment to the cause. They have
enabled MZCC to provide a consistent level of services, both to our constituency and
our communlty. Wlthout the support of our mernbership, we would not be able to
do so.
This Is a testament to the culture, values and vislon which have been invested into
the MZCC organlsation over the years.
In the future years, MZCC will build on our current foundation, and look to vision-
cast for growth both numerically and organisationally.
Governance
In the memorandum and articles of MZCC the chair of MZCC is the senlor mlnlster
and only if he refuses to take up that responsibility someone else on the board can
be voted to tske up the chair.

Along with the senior minister, all other ministers are also board members.
MZCC will operate with an accountant who will provide the financial reports,
correspond and lease with the MZCC accounts.
The MZCC Board has agreed to the co-opting of other members to support the board
in the area of HR and H&S.
Thanksglving
The board would Ilke to state our contlnued thanks to all the members of MZCC who have
served the board of MZCC over the last year. We put on record our sincere thanks to
everyone who has giving their time and talents to respond to the legal, financial and
management aspects of MZCC.
The board and leadership of MZCC would Ilke to thank our accountant and audltors who
have helped to support the board in sorting and orbiting this yearfs accounts.
We also would Ilke to put on record our immense gratltude and thanks to the membershlp
and attendees of Mount Zion Community Church for their continued commitment, immense
generosity, support through prayers and words of encouragement. MZCC members have
truly demonstrated what it means to be members of the body of Christ.

VI. POLICIE5
We continue to monitor and adjust to the ever-changing policy requirements i.e. Health &
Safety handbook and Employee Staff handbook.
The dlrectors keep up to date with the risks assoclated with the operation of the
organisation via monthly meetings, reviews, child protection procedures, security and
health and safety reviews. relevant insurance policies.
Internal risks are minimised by the implementation of procedures regarding good practice,
fire safety inspections and intruder alarm maintenan￿.

The Trustees believe that they have complied with their duty to have due regard for the
guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission in exercising their powers
and duties.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial Position
Mount Zion Christian Community Church is pleased to present financial statements that
show a good performance following on from prior year. The year ending with a surplus
which wlll be used to Increase the level of unrestrlcted reserves to support actlvlties In the
future.
Mount Zion Christian Community Church continues to review and improve its financial
processes and develop its approach to income generation to ensure greater financial
stabll ity.
The Statement of Financial Activities is set out on page 12. Total income was £304,988
(2023: £252,039). Total expenditure was £259,881 (2023: £238,221). The Increase In Incorne
is as a result of increased member donations and increase use of the church facilities.
Consequently, increasing the operational costs.
On 31 March 2024, total reserves were £530,536 (2023: £485.429). unrestricted reserves
were £527,047 (2023: £480,362).
Reserves Pollcy
The Trustee's policy is to have unrestricted reserves held to cover for regular operatin8 CQSts
should there be a shortfall in income and amounts to cover risks and contingencies that
would require an outlay of expenditure above a normal level.
On 31 March 2024, Unrestricted reserves were £527,047, restricted reserves were £3.490
being amounts held for the Benevolent fund and Glory hour social fund. Free reserves are
£105,268, the Trustees consider this an appropriate level of reserves in line with the
reserves policy.

ended 31 March 2024.
Responslbllltles and basls of report
As the charlty's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the ACV,).
I report in respect of my examination of the charitws accounts carried out under sectlon 145
of the 2011 Act and In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable
Directlons given by the Charity Commission under sectlon 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.
Independent examlnerfs statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my
attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material
respect:

the accounts did not comply with the applicable requlrements concernlng the form

I. ACCOUNTING POUCIES
Basis of preparlng the financlal statements
The financlal statements of the charitable company, which is a public beneflt entlty under
FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) 'Accountlng
and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities
preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in
the UK and Republlc of Ireland (FRS102) {effective l January 2019),, Financial Reportlng
Standard 102 The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republlc of Ireland
and the Companies Act 2006.
Mount Zlon Christlan Cornmunity Church is a company Ilmlted by guarantee and does not
have share capital. The member5 of the company are the trustees. names on page l. In the
event of the company bein8 wound up, the liability in respect of the guarantee is limited to
£1 per member. The charitvs registered number and reglstered office Is glven In the charltv
informatlon In page l of this report.
The charlty constltutes a public benefit entity as defined by FRS102. The financial
statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charltles:
Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable In the UK and Republic of
Ireland (FRS 102) effective from l January 2019, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable
In the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102), and the Charlties Act 2011.
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The
financial statements are prepared in sterling which is the functional currency of the charity
and rounded to the nearest £1.
The significant accounting policies applied in the preparation of these financial statements
are set out below. These policies have been consistently applied to all years presented
unless otherwise stated.
Financial reportlng standard 102 - reduced disclosure exemptions
The charitable company has taken advantage of the following disclosure exemptions in
preparing these financial statements, as permitted by FRS 102 'The Financial Reportlng
Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland,:
the ￿qUirementS of Section 7 Statement of Cash Flows.

Preparatlon of consolidated financlal statements
The financial statements contain information about Mount Zion Christian Community
Church as an individual company and do not contain consolidated financial information as
the parent of a group. The charity is exempt under Section 399(2A) of the Companies Act
2006 from the requlrements to prepare consolidated financial statements.
Income
All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has
entitlement to the funds. it is probable that the income will be received, and the amount
can be measured rellably.
For donations to be recognised the charity will have been notified of the amounts and the
settlement date In wrltlng. If there are conditions attached to the donatlon and thls requlres
a level of performance before entltlement can be obtained, then income Is deferred untll
those conditions are fully met or the fulfilment of those conditions is within the control of
the charity, and it is probable that they wlll be fulfilled.
No amount Is Included In the financial statements for volunteer time in line with the SORP
(FRS 102).
Income from government and other grants are recognlsed at falr value when the charlty has
entltlement after any perf0rrnan￿ conditlons have been met, It is probable that the income
will be recelved, and the amount can be measured reliably. If entitlement is not met, then
these amounts are deferred,
Investment income 15 earned through the subsidiary company owned by the charity.
Expendlture
Llabilities are recognised as expendlture as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation
committing the charity to that expenditure, it is probable that a transfer of economic
benefits will be required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured
reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under
headlngs that aggregate all cost related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly
attributed to speciflc headings, they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent
with the use of resources.

Taxation
The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable actlvlties.
Fund accountlng
Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charltable objectives at the
discretion of the trustees.
Restrlcted funds can only be used for partlcular restricted purposes wlthln the objects of the
charSty. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for
particular restricted purposes.
Further explanatlon of the nature and purpose of each fund is included In the notes to the
financlal statements.
Pension costs and other post-retirement beneffts
The charitable company operates a defined contribution penslon scheme. Contributions
payable to the charltable company's pension scheme are charged to the Statement of
Financial Activities in the period to which they relate.
Debtors and credltors receivable / payable withln one year
Debtors and creditors with no stated interest rate and receivable or payable within one year
are recorded at transaction price. Any losses arising from impairment are recognised in
expenditure.
