R ort of the Inde Afifah Academ endent Auditors to the Trustees of Our responsibilities for the audit of the finaDclal statements We have been appointed as auditors under S¢ction 144 of the Charities Act 2011 and report in accordance with the Act and r¢levant rcgulations n]ade or having etYe¢t thcr¢uJMIcr. Our objectives are to obtain Teasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole are free from material misstatemenL whether due lo fraud or error, and to issue a Repom of the Tndepcndent Auditors that includes our opinion. Reasonable assurance is a high level of assurance, but is not a guarantee that an audit conducted in accordance with ISAS (UK) will always detect a material misstatement when it exists. Misstatements can arise from fraud or error aDd are considered material if. individually or in the awegatc, th¢y could Tea80nably bc expected to infiuenc¢ th¢ economic decisions of user8 taken on the basi8 of thes¢ fmanci statements. The ext¢nt to wbich our procedutt8 are capable of detecting irregularitics including fraud is detailed below . Jrregularities, including fraud, aTe instances of non-cornpliance with law8 and regulations. We identified and assessed the risks of niateTial mi88tatcment of the financial statements from iTregulariti¢8,whether due to fraud or e￿Or. and discussed these between our audit team members. We then designed and performcd audit procedures responsivc to those risks, including obtaining audit evidence sufficient and appropriat¢ to provide a basis for our opinion. W¢ obtained an un(krstanding of the legal and regulatory framework within which the charAtabl¢ company operates, r￿uSing on those laws and regulations that have a direct cffcct on the deternjination of matetial amounts and disc108urcs in the fmancial statements In addition, we considered provisions of other law5 and regulations that do not have a direct effect on the financial staiements but compliance with which might be fundamental to the charitable companls ability to operate or to avoid material penalty. We also eonsidered the opportunili¢s and incentivcs that may exist within the charitable company for fraud. The laws and regulations we considered were General Data Protection R¢gulation (GDPR), employinent legislation, tsxation legislation and anti-frau4 bribery and Corruption Icgislation. Auditing standards limit the required audit procedures to identify non-complian¢e with these laws and regulations to enquiry of the Trustses and other managcment and inspection of regulatory and legal Co￿¢Spondencc, if any. We identified the greatest risk of material impact on the financial statements from irregularities, including fraud, to be within tbe timing of recognition of income and the overrid¢ of controls by managemenL Our audit procedures to respond to these risks included enquiries of management, internal audit and the Trustees about their own identification and aBscssment of the risks and i￿¢gulaTItIe8, sample testing on the posting of journals, reviewing accounting c8timat¢s for biases. reviewing r¢gulatory corre8pondcncc with Charity Conjmission, review of donor audit reports, health and safety regulations, and reading of minutes of meetings of tbose charged with governan¢¢.
