1. Reference and Administrative Details
Charity Name: Harvest Field Church Governing Document: Constitution (amended 13 May 2007) Charity Year: 1 April 2024 – 31 March 2025
The Church is governed by its Constitution and is administered by the Executive Committee, whose members are the charity trustees for the purposes of charity law.
2. Structure, Governance and Management
Harvest Field Church is constituted under a written Constitution originally adopted in 1993 and amended in 2006 and 2007 .
The charity is governed by an Executive Committee consisting of the Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and elected members, in accordance with the Constitution. The Pastor serves as an ex officio member of the Executive Committee.
Trustees are elected at the Annual General Meeting. The Executive Committee meets regularly (not less than twice per year as required by the Constitution) and is responsible for:

Setting and overseeing general policy

Managing the administration and affairs of the Church

Stewardship of finances and property
-
Ensuring compliance with charity law
Trustees are aware of their duties under the Charities Act and have had regard to the Charity Commission’s public benefit guidance in carrying out their responsibilities.
3. Objects and Aims
The Objects of the charity, as stated in the Constitution, are:

The advancement of the Christian religion in accordance with the Statement of Faith.

The relief of need, financial hardship or sickness
In pursuing these Objects, Harvest Field Church seeks:

To proclaim and teach the Christian gospel

To encourage Christian discipleship and spiritual growth

To provide opportunities for worship and fellowship

To support mission and evangelism locally and internationally
-
To offer pastoral care and practical support to those in need
4. Activities During the Year
4.1 Public Worship and Teaching
The Church held regular weekly worship services open to the public. These services included:

Biblical preaching and teaching

Prayer and intercession

Congregational worship
-
Teaching on Christian discipleship and spiritual growth
The preaching ministry emphasised the authority of Scripture, the saving work of Jesus Christ, and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit, consistent with the Church’s Statement of Faith.
Services were publicly accessible and provided spiritual instruction and encouragement to attendees of all ages and backgrounds.
4.2 Prayer and Pastoral Support
The Church provided ongoing pastoral care, including:

Support during times of illness, bereavement, or personal difficulty

Home visits where appropriate
This work contributed directly to the relief of need and sickness in both spiritual and practical forms, in line with the Church’s Objects.

In furtherance of its Objects and Powers (including the issuing and circulation of teaching and recorded material ), the Church:

Published devotional and instructional Christian content

Maintained an online presence providing free access to sermons and Christian teaching

Used digital media platforms to extend the reach of its ministry beyond the local congregation
This enabled the Church to serve individuals who may not be able to attend in person and to provide wider public benefit through accessible Christian teaching.
4.4 Evangelism and Mission
The Church continued to promote and support evangelistic outreach, both locally and more widely, including:

Public proclamation of the Christian message

Support for Christian mission initiatives

Engagement in evangelistic conversations and pastoral outreach
The Church also supported Christian charitable and missionary activity consistent with its constitutional powers .
4.5 Relief of Need and Practical Assistance
In line with its Object of relieving need, financial hardship or sickness , the Church provided:

Financial assistance in appropriate cases

Practical help to individuals experiencing hardship

Support and encouragement for those facing physical or emotional challenges
All such support was provided at the discretion of the trustees and in accordance with the charity’s Objects.
5. Public Benefit
The Trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty under section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.
Harvest Field Church provides public benefit in the following ways:

Advancement of Religion: By holding regular public worship services, teaching the Christian faith, and providing free access to sermons and instruction, the Church advances the Christian religion for the benefit of the public.

Pastoral and Moral Benefit: Through teaching, counselling and pastoral care, the Church promotes moral and spiritual well-being.

Community Cohesion: The Church provides a welcoming environment that fosters fellowship, mutual support and community engagement.

Relief of Need: Through financial and practical assistance, the Church contributes to the relief of hardship and sickness.

The Trustees believe that these activities demonstrably benefit both those who attend the Church and the wider public.
6. Financial Review
During the year ended 31 March 2025, the Church received an exceptional gift which resulted in annual income exceeding £25,000.
Income was derived from:

Expenditure was applied solely towards the promotion of the Church’s Objects in accordance with the Constitution .

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT
TO THE TRUSTEES OF HARVEST FIELD CHURCH For the year ended 31 March 2025
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of Harvest Field Church (“the Charity”, registered charity number 1120158) for the year ended 31 March 2025.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
-
accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008
other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view’ which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
