## Minutes: 

Chair address: Outgoing Chair, Aoife Malone welcome parents attending in person and over Zoom. Thanked the wonderful parents who supported the many fundraising events during year. And especially the donations of time, treasure and talent by the parent community. 

- Fundraising for all state schools continues to be critical to ensure a wide based 

- enrichment focused approach to education. As schools are “funded not free”, it is through parent donations that OLV continues to provide first-class classroom resources and programs for our children. 

There has been a significant drop in parent contributions in the last financial year, driven mainly by leaving parents discontinuing their monthly/ quarterly/ annual donations and lower numbers of new parents signing up to regular donations. The committee encourages those who can to make a regular financial contribution to FOLV. All funds raised go directly to the school. 

Secretary Report: Event Highlights: 

Social events made a welcome return in 2021/2022 school year. And we are grateful to the school leadership team for the use of the hall to enable parents to come together after such a long time. 

Race night: With COVID still a presence we were fortunate to be able to use the school to host firm favourite of the OLV community was a hugely enjoyable evening. 

Secret Santa Room: The calendar year could not end without the wonderful world of Christmas. It’s no surprise that children and parents love this event and we look forward to it again and again each year. 

Silent Auction: Returned after the pandemic and was topped off by a night of tapas, sangria and music. We thank everyone for the generous donations especially those small business that continue to support FOLV. 

Summer Social: On a warm summers evening parents gathered to enjoy great company and great food. It was a lovely way to end the year for parents. 



Summer Splash: For the first time ever, FOLV organised a fun day for the kids on the last day of school with the firm favourites of Dr Blood, Hair Paint, Tatoos and Stocks making a welcome return.
