The Charity has adopted the Charity Commission’s own Constitution as per Model Constitution for a Charitable Unincorporated Association (Form GD3). 

The Charity was established by a small number of individuals in the UK who had contacts in Kenya, especially Bungoma & Busia Districts of Western Kenya. The inaugural meeting was on 30[th] March 2007. Trustees were chosen because of their particular skills and knowledge already shown in other employment or life settings. 

The Board of Trustees meets regularly, approximately every three months, throughout the year to receive reports on progress with Kenyan projects. During 2020 an extra Executive meeting was held as well as more on-line talks and meetings. 

The Treasurer makes an extended annual visit to our projects in Kenya. 

Accounts are also presented at all our meetings (real or virtual) where our expenditure and income are regularly monitored and Trustees make financial decisions after appropriate consideration including risk assessments.

The registered charity in Kenya called Widows & Orphans Trust (WOT) has two UK Trustees of WORK as Board Members. 

The established local committee of Kenyan trusted agents is now accountable directly to WOT to identify and monitor beneficiaries of our aid. 

Four Trustees have made visits to our Kenyan projects

We have had additional support and advice from a qualified<br>accountant.<br>3.<br>Funds raised:  see accounts<br>4.<br>We have supported 109 students for educational fees during 2020<br>5.<br>We continued to support the growing and developing Eagle Association for all<br>our sponsored Orphans as a support net-work during and after their educational<br>years.<br>6.<br>We have re-newed the Solar lighting at St Bakhita Health centre<br>7.<br>We have installed a generator in St Bakhita to ensure the running of all the<br>refrigerators<br>8.<br>We have supported orphans & widows in their healthcare<br>9.<br>St Bakhita has initiated a local committee to ensure the Community and the local<br>areas are being well served for all aspects of health care<br>10. At the start of the pandemic WORK initiated an Isolation unit at St Bakhita and<br>provided all the basic equipment and protection uniforms<br>11. We have started a project to support and care for vulnerable pregnant teenage<br>girls and their babies – the Kangaroo Project<br>12. Our Gift Aid scheme continues to grow and gives us a return from donations<br>13. We have 122 sponsors who regularly donate money, the majority by standing<br>order and a further 109 supporters who assist in a variety of ways including the<br>100 club<br>14. WORK has initiated the installation of a Mortuary for St Bakhita MHC to enable<br>sustainability at St Bakhita MHC<br>15. WORK has completed a Classroom at Rehoboth Primary School<br>16. WORK has provided new water tanks and rain collecting schemes<br>17. WORK has constructed 2 extra Consulting rooms at St Bakhita MHC to improve<br>the medical care<br>18. WORK has completed a new accounting office in St Bakhita MHC<br>19. WORK has continued to support infrastructure at Namboboto Mission Health<br>Centre<br>20. WORK has fenced and protected the new land for future development. It has<br>been planted with crops for the Hospital Kitchen to provide for patients<br>21. WORK financially supports at total of 98 widows<br>22. We are gradually gaining enough funds for a new Children’s ward and a<br>Mortuary at St Bakhita<br>23. An external auditor has undertaken an audit of Accounts.|
