th
95 Bomb Group Heritage Association - Chalrman's report 2024.
What a remarkable year thls has been on so many levels!
Our buildings have undergone signif icant changes 2nd updates. The exterior has received 8
Iresh coat of paint from a contracted company, complete with a guarantee. The toilets have
been renov8ted, with traditional designs for both the ladies, and gents, faciliries, while the
accessible has been brought up to regulation. Other are8s h8ve also benefited from decoralion,
improvements, and maintenance. We've added beech hedgingalongtho boundary and a yew
he(Jge behind th8 memorial bunker.
The museum has experienced 3 thorough deep cle8n and reorganisation, now featuring superb
new lighting. We've also welcomed new collections, thanks to generous donations, with more
8dditions planned. To enhance air circulation, we have installed fans in the built-in cabin8ts.
The bar has thrived throughout the year, hosting numerous dances and open days, keeping
Brads Bar lively with a sready flow of beerl Over the winter, the PX underwent a signilicant
rev2mp, introduclng new stock, including our own br8nd8d glasses 3nd beer sets. which have
been verywell received.
The Commlttee has welcomed manyvisitors overthe pastyear. In lune, we hosted a large group
as part ot the D-Day anniversary cruise, with over 200 guests attending over the weekend. We
providod dancing, live ￿￿$le, military vehicle displays, and, as always, a warm welcome from
our dedicated Committee and volunteers, for which we are extremely grateful. We've also had
numerous visitors from the US, including family members coming to see where their relatives
served, as well as tours featuring the c88t from "Masters of the Air. Another succes8ful
Americana Day and our regular open days have contributed to a fant8Stic yeai.
Looking ahead, we are planning a reunion for 2025, which will be announced soon. along with
exciting new additions to thg museum. We are 81so working on plans for a new buildlng to house
the Dodge Weapons Carrier, alongside ongoing essential maintenance and further
developments forthe museum.
Financially, this year has been qulte expensive. however, through the success of our events and
visit8, we have worked h8rd to raise funds to r8invest in the Heritage Association for future
projects.
The loss oftwo key members of ourassociation has deeply affected ourcommittee and
organisation, but we will strive to remembei and honour them in the best way possible.
None of this progress would have been 8chi8vable without the support of our members,
volunteers, and Committee. Their efforts are clearly Yeflected in the transformation of the RFC.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed and supported us over the past year. Here's to a
successful 20251
