independence. and rights of people with assistance dogs across the UK.
ObjKtivK and Actlvltlos
Assistance Dogs UK'S main objective is to seek to advance the educatKJn of the public and service providers about assistance
dogs. and the rights of people who rely on them.
This is done through the following activth'es.. encouraging the exchange of ￿eaS and best pract￿ amongst ils members,
raising awareness amongst the general public. and promoting behavioural and legislative changes to ensure the freedom,
independence and rights of people who rely on assistance dogs as well as the welfare of the dcgs.
Aehlevements and Pertorm•n¢e
New members and candidates.. In 2021. Assistance Dogs UK created a 'candidate ffembership. and welcomed 8
assistance dog organisations that were workin9 towards accre(lrta1￿n from Assistance Dogs Inlernalional.
During that lime, tsyo of these organisations achieved full accreditats'on from Assistance Dogs Intemalional and became
eligible for fvll mèmbership of Assistance Dogs UK. Autism Dogs CIC was welcomed as a member of Assistsn¢e Dogs UK
in August 2021 and Services Dogs was wethmed in October 2021.
Website. In 2021, Assistance Dogs UK developed and launched a new website. The website providès a range of
information and resources for the following audiences.

The public
The wèbsite also has a hub available only lo staff and volunteers of member and candidale organisalions, through which
they can share Information, best practice. and pool their knowledge and eX￿rtiSe in order to create guidance and resources
for publi¢ benefit.
Learning and Iraining.. Assistance Dogs UK hosted a range of learning and training opportunities for its members and
- candidates, promoting and sharing goc#J practice and a consistent approach to furthering Assistance Dogs UK'S charitable
objects.
Resources.. Assistan￿ Dogs UK created a range of infomiative resources and continued to provide information to a wide
range of businesses, agencEs. and individuals on access rights.
European Standard for Assistan￿ Dogs.. During 2021, Assistance Dogs UK members continue to be active in the CEN
TC4S2 - Assistance Dogs This Technical Committee seeks to create European stsndards relating to all aspects of training
and supporting assistance dog partnerships.
Futuro Plans
In 2022. Assistance Dogs UK will continue to provide training and leaming for rts members and candidates, as well as
continuing lo create opportunities that encourage and enable members and candidates to share their knowledge and
expertise lo further Assistsnce Dc¥Js UK'S chanlable objects.
They will also produce a new range of educatsonal resources in order lo fvrther the charity's objects.
Assistance Dogs UK will strengthen rts govemance wth a review of Ils Articles of Association Iwrth the appropriate
permissions from the Charity Commiss¢onl and conkn.nue to review and update its policies.

COVID-19
During the continued restr￿tIonS brought 8boul by the pandern￿. Assistance Dogs UK continued to provide Covid 19
related support ils members through monthly online meetsngs to dwuss the developing situation, and latterly, to discuss
COVKI recovery on an organisational and industry scale.
No ADUK staff have been furioughed.

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Annual Re￿rt and the financial statements in accordance with
applicable law and United Kingdom Generalty Accepted Accounbng Pract￿e.

The Charity is a Company limited by guarantee. and is a wistered Charity. Each memberfs liability would be
limited to an amount not exceeding £1 in the event of the Charity winding up.

prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice
applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable
in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021, the Financial Reporhng Standard applicable in the UK and Republic
of Ireland IFRS1021, the Chanties Act 2011 and the Companies Act 2006

to Ihe projects. No amounts are included in the financial statements for services donated by volunteers.

All expendrture is accounted for on an accruals basts and includes irrecoverable VAT. cosls cannot be
directly attributed to partJ'¢ular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with use of
