Thè charity originated from the will of John Osbaldeston dated 26 Novamber 1665, in which a bequest of £500 was
made whlch was required to be invested for Ihg yearly relief and maintenance of the poor of the township of
Leyland. The company was incorporated on 26 September 2006 and is governed by a Memorandum and Articles of
Association.

The financial stalemenis have been prepared in accordance with the charivs governing document, Ihe
Companies Act 2006, FRS 102 'The Financial Reporting Siandard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland" {"FRS 102,1 and the Charilies SORP "Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Slalemenl of
Recommended Practice applicable lo charities pr&paring their accounts in accordan¢o with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in Ihe UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021" leff8clive 1 January 20191- The
charity is a Publlc Benefit Enlily as defined by FRS 102.
The charily has iaken advantage of th& provisions in the SORP lor charities not to prepare a Slalemgnl of
Cash Flows.

1.2 Golng eoncern
At the lime of approving thè lln8nclal slalements, Ihts Iruslees have a reasonable expe¢tallon thal the charity
has adequate resources lo continue In operaiional existence for thè foreseeable future. Thus the trustees
conlinue lo adopt th8 going concern basis ol aGcoLJnting in preparing the financial stslemenls.
1.3 Charitable funds
Unreslricled funds are available for us9 al the discretion of the trustees In furtherance of Ihelr charl¢able
objectives.
Deslgnatgd funds are genèral funds which have been sel aslde by th& Iruslees for specifi¢ purposes. These
can be designated and undesignaled as rgquSred.
R&slricted funds are suble¢l lo specific conditions by donors or grantors as lo how they may be used. The
purposes and uses of the reslricled funds are set out in the notes lo Ihe flnancial slalemenls.
Endowment funds are subl9¢1 to specific conditions by donors that the capital must be malnlained by the
charity.

Income Is recognised when the chaTSly Is legally enlilled lo il after any performance condlllons have been mel,
the amounts Can be measured reliably, and it is probable Ihal income will ba received.
Cash donations are recognised on receipl. Other donalions are iecognised once the charity has been notified
ol the doftalion. unless performance conditions 18quire deferral ol the amount. Incomè tax recoverable in
relation lo donations feceived under Gift or deeds of covenant is recognised al the lime of Ihe donation.
Legacies are recognised on receipt or otherwise if the ohorily has been notified of an impènding dislribulion,

activity are allocated dire¢lly to that aclivily. Shared costs which contribute lo more than one activity and

consistent with the use of resources. Central staff costs are allocated on th8 basls of time spent, and
depreciation charges are allocal¥d on tha Portion of the asset's use.

Cash and cash equivalents include Cash in hand. deposits held al call wilh banks, other short-lerm liquid

The charity has elected lo apply Ihtr provisions of Section 11 'B8sl¢ Flnancial Instruments, and Secllon 12
'Olher Financial Inslrumenis Issues. of FRS 102 to all ol Its financial instruments.
Financial instruments are recognised in th9 charills balance sheet when the charity becomes parly lo the
conlraclual provisions of the Instrum8nl.
