Keith thanked everyone for their continued commitment and support to ensure the smooth and continuous running of the society.
Both shows this year have been a huge success and appreciated by all audiences young and old.
Keith is very much looking forward to the future productions and plans for the Society.

## _**What is H.A.O.D.S. & HEYKIDS all about**_
## _**…..**_
The Society was formed in 1930, and is affiliated to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) and to the Greater Manchester Drama Federation (GMDF). In 1990 the junior section Hey Kids was formed.
The society produces two full musicals each year: one for the senior section (16+) and one for Hey Kids (8 -18). The society also performs plays and concerts from time to time.
The senior show is normally in early March each year, and the Hey Kids show in mid-October. All performances are held at Heywood Civic Centre.
Rehearsals for the shows are normally held on Monday and Wednesday evenings, with additional Sunday afternoon rehearsals for the last few weeks before the show goes on.
The rehearsals for the senior show usually run from October to March each year, and for the Hey Kids show from May to October, with a break for the summer holidays. Throughout the year the Hey Kids don their brightly coloured Hey Kids T-shirts and take part in various activities to raise money for their society.
Such activities include bag packing at Morrison’s Heywood, carol singing and various other activities. And as you can imagine singing Christmas carols in December wearing those T-shirts shows how committed these young thespians really are!
## **REVIEW OF THE YEAR 2022/2023**
To begin, our fundraising team organized a very successful Easter Egg raffle, along with other prizes, using the power of Facebook to engage our community. This initiative raised an incredible £785 in profit, marking a strong start to the year.
The adults then took to the stage, performing _Putting it Together_ at Rochdale's Curtain Theatre under the expert direction of Nick Angus. While I have not got the exact ticket sales, im sure Martin will have.We successfully raised £273 from raffle and programme sales during this event.Again a huge success and we need to think of further events / shows we could hold there.
Next up were the HeyKids, who delivered a fantastic production of _Disney’s High School Musical_ at Middleton Arena. Despite a slow start with ticket sales, we managed to sell 1,475 tickets and raised £1,660 in raffle and programme sales. The cast had a blast, and we received outstanding feedback from our audience, who truly enjoyed the show. The fundraising team once again delivered with a well-attended wreath-making event, earning over £500 for the society. This was another great success, demonstrating the ongoing dedication of our supporters.
Following this, the adults returned to the stage at Middleton Arena with a brilliant performance of _Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein_ . We sold 1,139 tickets, and our audiences left glowing feedback, full of smiles and praise. In addition, we raised over £1,100 from raffle and programme sales.
We received amazing feedback from both audiences and our local NODA and GMDF representatives.

Adult Awards, Best Female Comedy, Best Supporting male, Best Supporting female, Best Staging, Best concert Revue, Best Leading Male, Best Leading female, Best Choreographer, Best Musical Director, Best Musical. Winners Best Female comedy, Best Concert review.
GMDF nominations Adult – Best Female, Best Male, Best Supporting female, Best Supporting Male, Adjudicator’s Award Wardrobe team., Best Choreographer, Best Producer, Best Production.
Youth - Adjudicator’s award Best youth theatre, Best Youth Female, Best Youth Male, Best MD, Best Youth Theatre Production.
Winners – Best Producer Young Frankenstein, Best Female Actor Young Frankenstein. Finally, we held another successful Easter raffle, bringing in £455 for the society.
In summary, it has been a highly productive and successful year, thanks to the hard work and commitment of everyone involved. I would like to express our sincere gratitude to the fundraising team, cast members, and to all our loyal supporters for making these achievements possible.
## _**TREASURER’S REPORT**_
As a society we need to remember that we are all one and the same, even though the sections have their own budgets we have one account and all profits or losses affect the society as a whole.
I am reporting on the financial year June 2023 to May 2024. The formal accounts for this year have been prepared by our accountants, from records kept by myself.
There are copies of the accounts available. These are the same as previous years. I don’t propose to go through the accounts in detail but if you have any questions I will be happy to answer them at the end of my report.
However, there are a few things that I wish to mention, as follows:-
## **General Account**
There was a loss of £7828 in the general account this year. This compromises all the costs not associated with a specific show including premises
## **Senior Account**
The senior show shows a loss of £1217.
## **Junior Account**
The junior show made a profit of £5483 this is due to the hard work of the production team to keep costs down and the hard work of members applying for grants
The balance statement shows that we have £42754 in total assets as of 31[st] May 2024
It is important to note fundraising remains an important factor in the success of the society and to keep us producing fantastic shows we must continue to fundraise to help with the rising costs of shows. If anyone is aware of any grants we can apply for please pass on the information to any member of the exec and we can work on applying.

We recognise that these Associated Company Rules change the rate of corporation tax payable in certain circumstances and as such, we acknowledge we are responsible for informing you of all associated companies. Having undertaken a full enquiry we have 0 associated companies which should be reported to HM Revenue & Customs as part of our taxation compliance
In connection with your assignment for the period ending 31/05/2024 I make the following representations to you.
1. I acknowledge as director my responsibility for the financial accounts and taxation returns, which you have prepared in accordance with our instructions, this letter and your terms and conditions found at http://uk‐ccm.com/terms‐and‐ conditions
2. I confirm that all the accounting records have been made available to you for the purpose of your review and all the transactions undertaken by the business have been properly reflected and recorded in the accounting records.

In my opinion, the accounting policies are appropriate to the business and conform with generally accepted accounting principles. I confirm that all transactions and balances have been accounted for in accordance with these accounting policies.
4. I confirm that Heywood Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society owns no assets which require including in the balance sheet, unless otherwise stated in the accounts.
