TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT

The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 30[th] September 2023.

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

Objectives and aims

The object of the charity is the furtherance of such charitable purpose or charitable purposes in any part of the world and if more than one in such proportions and in such manner as the trustees shall from time to time think fit.

The activity of the charity is currently making of grants mainly to projects in Asia.

The trustees have complied with the requirements of the Charity Commission with regard to public benefit.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE

Charitable activities

The charity awarded grants totalling £84,788 to organisations during the year, mainly for projects in south east Asia, with the emphasis on animal and children’s welfare.

FINANCIAL REVIEW

Financial position

At the year end, the cash funds of the charity amounted to £210,104. In addition the charity has an investment property valued at £165,000.

The charity aims to retain enough funds for urgent appeals and to ensure that sufficient cover is available for on- going projects .

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

Governing document

The charity is established by a trust deed dated 31st January 2007.

The trustees are appointed by the existing trustees as and when a need arises; the trustee body meets on a regular basis to consider the making of grants from the charitable funds.

Risk Review

The Trustees regularly review business risk.

Independent Examiners Report

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 30[th] September 2023 which are set out on pages 5 and 6.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner's statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

  1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or

  2. the accounts do not accord with those records

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
